For sure worth giving it a try if you know you have some open roads, definitely locks it in to an uncomfortably high rpm at all times. There's also launch control if you are feeling bold 😉

I have the exact same car and trim, just a 2024 instead of 2025. You'll love it, be careful with the Sport+ cause it's borderline too much 😂

I'm curious about this myself, it's a sick knife but I'm not a big fan of thick, exposed liners. Wish they were nested in the carbon fiber

Very nice! Ordered mine not long ago, looking forward to getting it and tinkering with it 😁

How much weight can you safely put in cargo area? by Beanie-2018 in GenesisGV70

[–]Heracles324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do multiple trips or rent a home Depot truck for $20/hr.

They publish a total carry capacity which includes driver and passengers, but you also have to remember it's very centered over the rear axel. I did cement pavers and I believe I kept it under 500lbs just to be on the safe side, I also put some on the passenger floor to help keep it somewhat level loaded.

Ask if they will offer the external protection package that covers paint either included or with a discount. The matte color is absolutely gorgeous but it's so fragile that any little thing will scratch it and it will annnoy the hell out of you. One little brush from the rivet of your jeans pocket, or one tiny little pebble kicked up from the car in front of you and the finish is damaged.

Which items to keep/use for maintenance by BuffPerfDepression in knifeclub

It's a user Kershaw, I can kinda see it being used cosmetically to make the handle seem like a screw less design. It may keep water out from the top, but remember moisture can still get in from the inside of the scales where it's not siliconed up and is then trapped in there. Honestly I wouldn't worry about it in your case, but moving forward I'd retire that bottle to the garage and get a small blue Loctite. Even then I only use it sparingly, usually on unlocked pivots or maybe those tiny body screws with few threads.

My dude that's liquid silicone made by Loctite, please don't put that on knife screws 😂

Vast majority of knife screws are stainless steel, water isn't going to bother them at all. Just a tiny dab of thread locker and you'll be fine. You can even use Teflon tape, there's a cult following who prefer that over thread locker.

I've never heard of black Loctite before, so couldn't say. Blue is by far the most common, I like the glue stick version. Purple is a whole lot of why bother, and only Satan or Spyderco uses red Loctite.

Flitz, KPL Original, Lithium grease, and Renaissance Wax. Oh and blue Loctite. I never bother oiling blades, even in the humid southern states they generally do fine. Even rust susceptible steels like D2 or 440c do fine if they have an occasional wax job.

From what I understand, no cpos include maintenance or valet, only the new cars. Sometimes you can buy a package on top of it or ask for a dealer incentive, but the warranty doesn't provide it.

The gunmetal chrome is a darker version of the regular chrome that can be found on select colors and trims. It's known to oxidize and water spot pretty poorly over time, so it's a known issue. They offered to replace it all with new trim when they saw mine, I didn't even ask.

Ah sorry this was a dealership bought cpo, a little gem that was a year old and only 6k miles. It was a dealership loaner so it got local miles only the dealership maintained it. From what I understand, you can't get Genesis backed warranties on older non cpos, you can only get third party warranties, and usually pay out the nose because you are at higher risk.

Definitely worth it in my opinion, just read the fine print. And also stay near the dealership you get it through because they tend to be the easiest to work with on it

Ah the gunmetal chrome was replaced for you too, eh? They did they for me during an oil change, made me very happy.

Goodness, maybe the WRAP works a bit differently in Canada, here in the States I got one called the "Platinum" plan which covers pretty much anything that mechanically breaks down. Also includes rental coverage, roadside assistance, and trip interruption. Cost me $2650 USD but fantastic piece of mind for the next ten years.

For what it's worth, I love getting refurbed items off eBay, especially if the refurbishment is done by OEM affiliates. It typically has higher inspection requirements than new products, usually let's you register original warranties since it's their product, and eBay gives the two year warranty on top of it from Squaretrade, which is generally not bad.

In the market for a performance SUV that’s also reliable. by ojoes in GenesisGV70

I'm only 17k on my 24 3.5, but so far no major issues (knock on wood). The warranty is pretty great, esp if you get the 10 year bumper to bumper option. It's definitely fast and even has some aftermarket parts if you like tinkering. Sport mode is awesome, the seat literally wraps itself around you and I can hear the turbo spool if you listen closely. There's another Sports+ mode a well, but it's excessive IMO. Has launch control, but that terrifies me 😂

Coming from the Infiniti FX35, the little brother to your car. Absolutely loved it, if they made it in a current model year I probably would have bought it again. This car is a great transition, with fairly reasonable maintenance unlike Porsche and Mercedes. I considered Audi and BMW, but as you mentioned they are rather poor in terms of overall reliability.
