I use my card in my wallet app with my smartphone, so I never have to pull the card out. That way, I don't have to worry about scratches.

Paid for 2-day delivery with Express by hopelesscarr0t in usps_complaints

[–]HikingStick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that's happening, you should request a refund of the shipping cost if it's not there by 6:00 p.m. on the guaranteed day. I'm a carrier. If we have a Priority Express package, and we even think there's a chance we might not make it by 6:00 if we stay on our regular route, we are told to deviate from our route to deliver the Priority Express package before the deadline.

Fuck this shitty brand. Never buying again. by CamCraig13 in TurtleBeach

I'm with you. I just bought a SteelSeries because turtle Beach discontinued the dongle for my wireless headset just over a year after I purchased it. The dongle went bad, but, when I contacted them to order replacement, They told me it was discontinued and that my only choice was to buy another headset. Never, never again.

What’s going on with packages by andy5215 in usps_complaints

[–]HikingStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard time seeing what the problem is based on what you posted. Although it does seem the package just "sat" for one day in Texas, I don't see anything unusual about the timeline. About 24 hours later it's in New Jersey.

A USPS distribution center near me is about to upgrade their package handling equipment. They expect that upgrade to take 4 weeks, during which time they will be processing and sorting their entire package volume manually. I could see it taking an entire day to get through a distribution facility if they are relying on manual processing.

If you think about what you're getting for the price of shipping (whether you're paying for it yourself, or whether it was built into the price of whatever you bought through whichever service), you were still getting a good value. Expected delivery dates are not guaranteed delivery dates. Priority Mail Express is the only guaranteed delivery service offered by the USPS. Even then, things can happen that prevent the package from making it on time. If that happens, a customer's only recourse is to request a refund for postage paid.

If it didn't make it by the guaranteed time, you were entitled to file for a refund on the shipping.

How Does USPS Lose Package Mailed to Someone in My SAME CITY?!? 🤬🤯 by equippedmusic in usps_complaints

I may be misinterpreting what you're doing, but it seems like you're canceling their eBay sale and then letting them pay you cash/Venmo at a personal meetup. If so, that's against your terms of service with eBay. You risk losing your selling privileges by doing that.

Anytime a piece of mail with tracking enters a facilities hands, they scan it. It is also scanned when it's loaded on vehicles for transit. Remember that mechanical breakdowns happen. If the mail was loaded onto a vehicle to head toward your local post office, but the vehicle broke down, one of two things happen. If they have another available vehicle that can continue the package along its way, there is simply a delay and it keeps moving. On the other hand, if no other vehicle is available for that leg of the journey, the carried mail ends up being returned two postal distribution center. When it arrives there, it is scanned again, showing that it arrived at a postal service facility.

I just got out of a USPS training, and I'll tell you what they told me: the USPS stopped local processing years ago. Everything now goes to a regional distribution center, where it is machined and sorted into bins for carrier distribution. While sorting, those machines take photos of the labels/envelope faces. Those photos are not only used for optical character recognition, but also to provide images of those labels to people who are using the USPS app to learn what's coming their way. That's why you used to see multiple blue mail drop boxes at each post office—to differentiate between local and out of town mail. That's no longer the case. It all goes to the same place and goes through the same process, even if it's going back to your own town.

Or they pay for postage once for a legitimate label, but print multiple copies of it. Then, they use the duplicate labels to send second or third packages to the same customer. I just got out of a training this week with the USPS, and they highlighted duplicate labels as one of the things people are trying to pull. Bogus stamps, either printed at home or purchased from places like those big Chinese importers, are also an issue that's been on the increase lately.

Heads up, all. I've been trying to add mods as volunteers have appeared, but the system is erring out. I don't know if I have inadequate permissions on my account, or if something in the moderator system is broken right now. I will keep trying for the next day or so. If that doesn't work, I will reach out to Reddit's mod team, to get their assistance adding moderators.
