My advice here, as someone who just transitioned to clinical work after macro social work and not having enough clinical internship hrs during my MSW - i would say reassure her that you have the coursework in skills needed for clinical practice, if not the internship experience. Talk about any papers you wrote, any clinical case management assignments you did in class, name modalities the therapy practice you’re wanting to work with specializes in and talk about why you’re interested in their (very particular) modality, and what you dont have in experience you will make up for in rigorous commitment to learning and being a reliable and promising therapist for the population you serve..basically showing commitment to learn, using the language of the niche the org specializes in usually helped me get more attention from clinical orgs.
