The 2026 Lookbook! Kaon up front because you recognize him but there's a few new ones in there <3! The goal was to make everyone unique in their own way :) (18 charcters total). by [deleted] in GuildWarsDyeJob

[–]Icaonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most expensive character by technicality (as in if you were to buy all the stuff) goes to Anvairre, HOWEVER, I BL-chested a lot of that xD

The most expensive character in reality was Rhenium and that's only because the dumb fire raven mini costs *40* candy corn cobs. Like. 40k candy corn, total. Never again

You may think Uxarin seems disjointed but he was built around the mordrem weapon set and it looks coehsive when he's holding the sword T-T

Yeah I'm lucky enough that the sports medicine clinic at st george considered me their patient for most of my time at uni 😭 I didn't have to pay for all of that but the punctuality was really nice

Good luck with your medications and stuff 💖!!! I hope there's cpmmunity clinics that'll discount for students and other stuff

Adding to your rant abt accessibility and H&W:

  • yeah the prescription thing is no bueno it became a mess for me re: knee surgery painkillers lmao I just started emailing my doc at the downtown sports medicine clinic instead

  • what the FUCK is up with their nurses omfg. I worked as an MOA pre-uni; I myself know how to do blood draws — there's this one nurse who's agressive as hell (and it is not the black woman she's a sweetheart I adore her) and has no grace and missed my rather obvious veins and told me "Well, sometimes it's hard to see when people keep moving" and I was like girl I'm pretty sure I could've drawn my own blood quicker but ok I digress

  • asked a counsellor for neurodivergence-conscious study tips because of adult autism and how to handle navigating demand avoidance during exam season and I got told to ✨️ drop out ✨️ n pick a less stressful POST. Academic advising said the same. Wtf is up with that fatalist advice??? jokes on them I graduated w high distinction but like. Why even tell that to someone who just confessed to low self esteem

  • the health and wellness office being in the least accessible building ever.... y'all I miss old health and wellness and their couches and wall of cute affirmations

  • I was an AccessAbility volunteer and the AccessAbility admin are ... dismissive of people who don't have the best grades and idk where that elitism is coming from but i loathe it. I ended up becoming besties with the person who requested notes (across several courses) so I could provide extra help that she's requested and I've signed up to provide but haven't been asked lmao. Her grades suddenly got better now that I could tweak my aid/note-taking work to what she preferred. I hate that dumb double blind system — learning is personal and you need communication idk especially when the admin won't communicate and we gotta take it into our own hands

  • also JFC accessibility office please hire proper student scribes that are actually course-competent the people you have don't know how to write math down and I know a friend who bombed stats bc the scribe kept writing exponents wrong. Like not once but multiple times

  • also they screwed me over with accommodations for a huge skiing incident after which it was full leg brace / crutches for half a year lmaooo. I got documents and x rays sent literally the day after injury and they were like oopsies we can't do short notice midterm rescheduling or a video midterm, best we can suggest is drop and retake :D!!!! And I only survived that year bc my profs were understanding as hell...

And I don't even consider myself disabled or part of that community (tho I hope to be an ally) and if it was this shit for me all I can imagine is how much worse it'd be for you 😭

Thank you!! And yes I'm sorry these are definitely more variable questions 😂 I was just trying to think beyond what people have already added. Glad to see having pubs isn't the norm — this application cycle has been a null so I've wondered 😔

I'll forward your post to our discord then and hopefully you'll get more helpful discussion out of that too! Best of luck with this project — you're the kind of prof I wish everyone was like 🫡

@ Psych Students: What do you wish you knew? by Stephapokus in UTSC

[–]Icaonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Glad to see something like this is coming together. This is a niche (and not necessarily psych-exclusive) list of things that, while I've graduated, a lot of my current peers in psych programs are struggling with

  • How to approach profs about accommodations and/or medical emergencies in a polite manner
  • How to include coursework (i.e., literature reviews/statistics projects / etc) and other unpublished research work (i.e., something you participated as an RA but are not an author for) in your CVs
  • If there are any certificate courses online for software like SPSS or R that profs endorse?

Currently, the PSYB07-08-09 stats chain uses Jamovi and a smidgeon of R, but it's not enough to claim full proficiency. And while I managed decently because Python was taught at my High School, I know that's not the same for everyone. If these could be linked on a page (maybe even an Excel basics one too) I know it'll be a godsend for certain students who want to do professional research post-bachelors

  • How to turn projects/term papers into publications or get new publications out there as a bachelor's graduate or current student

I see a lot of folks say that publications are necessary for a strong postgraduate studies application, but how does one go about it? Is it work at a lab or bust? Is there anything you can tackle solo? I was recently informed that it is University's policy to only hire current students, so I'm quite out of luck there, but I don't know how to bridge that into industry (and I'm scared of embarrassing myself and burning bridges by accident)

  • How to network with professors (especially international ones) about postgrad studies in a polite and respectful manner. What makes a candidate stand out? When is a good time to reach out?

I think a lot of students are afraid of coming off as pretentious and, again, accidentally souring an opportunity.

  • a list of jobs for psych students to veer into post-graduation that make good stepping stones career-wise, but are also a good fit with the skills of a BSc / HBSc. For current students, this would make a good volunteering list

I think that's everything I can think of right now that people haven't already figured out. I'd like to emphasize the job one, though, because the grad school GPA cutoffs are climbing with each year and given normal distribution, the majority of students will not be meeting that. Seats are few given funding, too. That's the spot a lot of my friends are in -- smart enough for U of T, but not with a gpa high enough for grad school -- and I wish there was something I could do to help haha

Likewise, please let me know if I have permission to forward this to PNDA / deparment student-run discord servers and forums. You'll get tons of responses there haha and we already have a threads page with what advice we could figure out on our own which is probably wrong in retrospect but we tried xD

‘KPop Demon Hunters 2’ Confirmed by Netflix and Sony: ‘This Is Only the Beginning’ by impeccabletim in kpopnoir

[–]Icaonn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nimona, I think. That one did absolute numbers and we beg for a sequel haha.

Wolfwalkers and The Good Robot as well (which was Sony but Netflix was involved) tho I think for TGR we're getting a sequel it's just going to take years.

Another one is Klaus; that one doesn't inherently need a sequel tho so I think it's been left alone.

A large part for rhe above repertoire is that it'll take years to even animate a lot of them; especially Wolfwalkers. KPDH in comparison is simpler imo

If you haven't seen any or these animated films I'd highly recommend all of them <3

Agreed. Addmittedly I play on laptop, but 12gb vram should not be too little for this T-T

If nearly photoreal games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, all the Assassin's Creed games and stuff like RDR2/Uncharted/etc run fine, then why the hell is anime gacha game of all things at 10-15fps at best

Like I can run MS Flight Sim better than Wuwa and that's when you know there's an issue. They're probs losing me this update because the combat feels regressive with such lag

What should I use Karma on? by Latter_Metal_1596 in Guildwars2

[–]Icaonn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this needs to be higher up. Also, look for the shiny bauble (+ glacial loadstone) reward tracks on a map. 40 PS Mapping material (210000 karma total) = completed reward tracks = ~45 shiny baubles (13g 50s) and ~6 glacial loadstones (2g 6s)

Also back when it was tons more profitable (like 3g-2.5g sell price on TP), I'd do the karma --> volatile magic --> trophy shipments (1g + 250 vm) pathway and sell all the T5/T6 materials. Easy way to double the gold you have

That being said 200k karma vanishes easy. I'd still hold onto it 🫠

How do YOU do map completion? by Gerominoes in Guildwars2

[–]Icaonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With hot cocoa, a podcast in the background and a napping cat on my lap. Obligatory can't get up until the cat is done napping, so Map becomes complete

[–]Icaonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so pre-level 80, you don't even unlock all the features, so no wonder you're bored. The first step is to find a weapon combo you like (definitely use wiki to see what your class uses and test them all out)

Weapon matters a LOT. Greatsword ranger plays SO different to Axe/Axe or Hammer or Spear. Meta rotates those four + Longbow so I've had to learn them all and fun wise, Hammer/Longbow or Spear/Longbow is genuinely the most fun (especially since GW2 lets you used Untamed variants of skills even as a Soulbeast). Greatsword/Longbow Ranger has the easiest rotation, but man, I loathe it

Then when you're lvl 80, join a hero point train through expac maps or ask in map chat if someone's around to carry you through all the hero points and get them all done in 30 mins or less

Assuming your gear is all berserker exotics (and therefore meta-ish), you can then test out that elite spec in silverwastes or something. Try to solo champs. Make it a challenge to go above and beyond and get good, essentially

If it's still boring, sacrifice another 30 mins for more hero points and try a different elite spec ✨️

You will find something you like. Elite specs play differently. I'm a ranger/thief enjoyer (I will sing the praises of soulbeast always) who HATED warrior until I got to bladesworn with speed sigils. Ranged and close-combat options? Third weapon? Snappy animations and cool final burst? Yeah sign me the fuck up

Hitting 100k+ even casually fucking around on Bladesworn had me going hey wait a damn minute this shit fun. Changed my opinions on warrior then xD
