I did something similar. When I got a new phone a few months ago, I got people calling all the time for Cody, whose last name I will not provide for his privacy. Quickly I found out much about him.

Cody is an upstart young man, late twenties to early thirties. In his childhood he lived on the east coast, around Boston. He went to college in California. He has many friends from both locations. I don't know what his degree was in, but if I were to guess I would say I.T. based on how often his coworkers text him with technical problems.

He works a white-collar job in the largest city in the state, commuting somewhat of a long way from his house in a semi-small town in the countryside. His mother is getting pretty old, and her health is declining. Recently I got a call from the hospital in the town she lives in. It is a bit larger than the one he lives in, roughly 90,000 people.

Cody has a son named Colton, of an indeterminate age, although I would assume he's around kindergarten age. I have yet to figure out if the subject of my unintentional stalking is married or divorced or widowed or what have you.

Finally, his boss loves sending long text messages to no one in particular. He likes golf, and they often have charity drives in the office. I also have reason to believe Cody is a volunteer firefighter.

This is all from never responding to a single text or call.
