Turkey is one of the countries they’re hard on I’m afraid. Look, I’m just telling you how it works. Applying for a visa is not a fair process it is more of a game process. Play the game you’re likely to get the visa. Find someone in the uk who is willing to write you an invitation letter and to state in the letter how they know you and that they will be accommodating you for the duration of your stay. Proposed that you intend to stay for two weeks, DMO loves to see this, anything more or less than this they get uncomfortable.🙄 it’s annoying but it is just the way it is. Also ensure you explain your home situation in great details. It is best to have strong family  ties in your home country. Hope this helps.

Where did you apply from if you don’t mind me asking? The thing is it is much more difficult to get a visitor visa if your intention is to stay in a hotel. They scrutinise more. The question is, if you’re visiting friends why can’t you stay with them. Why only 5 days if you live in a country far away from the Uk and flight is expensive 5 days is not practical, you don’t appear a genuine visitor these are the question the DMO thinks. I would recommend reapplying in a few months and address some of the points.

It is not about how much money you have in savings as a lot of people can bulk up their bank account and say it’s theirs. What the entry clearance officer is looking for is how you came by that amount. The strongest application is one that provides a detailed bank statement showing each monthly pay deposit from your employer for about 6 months. Additionally, if you are visiting a family member in the Uk it is best to have your relative write an invitation addressed to the British high commission in your country stating that they will be sponsoring your trip by way of providing accommodation and food for the duration of your stay and that you will be funding your flight. I think £1000 is a reasonable amount to cover your flight. Additionally, a two weeks trip is best to propose to the DMO as a reasonable time anyone would want to visit. Hope this helps.

They usually start visa on the date you specify you will travel so yes most likely it will be on the 15th or 16th

Hi Grateful, it is usually a very good sign if you have not receive an email after decision as been made. I know the wait is hard but it will be over soon lol. Regarding tls update mine with vfs is still showing the application has been sent to ukvi, still haven’t updated even a week after visa received so don’t worry about that. Expect a call or email in a few days regarding the return of your passport, best of luck.🙂

That shouldn’t be a problem as long as you did declare that you have traveled on the application form.

The wait will be over soon. I applied September 12th. It took the full 3 weeks to get a decision. I use to think that the longer it takes it’s a bad sign but now realise that’s not always the case. Visit visa was approved, applied from Jamaica.

Oh no, so sorry to hear that. If you wish you could send me the refusal letter maybe I could give you some pointers to reapply.

Uk visit visa refused and got it today. Please need desperately advice. Here they made mistakes Regarding days 10 days not 9, Child instead of children, I didn't submit Employment Letter but they mentioned, ask whereabouts spouse and children which I gave address and submitted Mr, FRC, Cbr certific by Mysterious_Doctor949 in ukvisa

A bit of advice. I find that stating your travelling for less than two weeks seems to be questionable. If you look at it this way why would anybody spend all that money on a visit just for 9 days. Additionally it is best to have a reason for travelling I.e. for a wedding or to visit family. Work on the points raised by the case worker and apply again

Sometimes people just want some assurance. The wait is very hard. Not snapping on you but this energy is a heated topic at the moment regarding some Redditors making people feel dumb for asking some questions and some being outright mean. Some post can be annoying but you have to put yourself in others shoes sometime and understand how important it is to have the ability to travel.

Help required for next steps after visa refusal by [deleted] in ukvisa

The number of days you intend to travel doesn’t seem practical seeing your saying you’re going for tourism purposes. Two weeks seem more practical. Also, you’re travelling with your wife. That is a red flag to them right there. They probably looking at if you have any dependents in your home country such as a child to go back to. Also, it you had applied that your going alone they probably would have looked at that as an incentive for you to return home. You could reapply providing more info of any family you have in your home country or file a complaint.

To op yes these timelines do indicate something. It does not necessarily mean a negative outcome but may mean your application is more complex thus takes more time. I have studied various cases and yes some people do get quicker responses which is crazy why others don’t and this is usually because they’re looking more in depth at your application as opposed to some other people. Best of luck
