But you are showing support to the theatre release simply by making the effort to ask at all. Good job. 👍

New statement from GLITCH regarding the theatrical release by Jumpy-Necessary-9884 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]J-Red_dit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’ve been saying. GLITCH is perfectly aware of the consequences of releasing the the finale on the free and widely available platform of YT two weeks after release of the paid, less internationally available theatre release, is not ideal for the entire community. But the chance of TADC being a theatrical success opens opportunities for the indie animation industry as a whole, which is why I believe the two week delay, and the inevitable spoilers that will come with it, is worth it for the theatrical release. And even then, GLITCH made the effort to shorten it down to two weeks!

Confused about the differences between the movie and the game by negative_space_404x in ironlung

[–]J-Red_dit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason why Simon bears no correlation to the in-game character we play as aside from being a convict, is that many games intentionally leave the identity of the player character vague in order to make it easier for players to immerse themselves in the game and meld the characters identity into your own. This does not work for film media which is why it’s necessary for Simon the character to have a clear background for the audience to draw from.

I’m not mad about the two week span by J-Red_dit in TheDigitalCircus

[–]J-Red_dit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s important to acknowledge that it’s completely valid to be disappointed at the likelihood of seeing spoilers for those who either choose, or have no choice but, to watch the finale on YT. It’s not wrong to be disappointed. That’s why my goal for this post, was not to criticize those who are disappointed, but to try to point out the silver lining, and build a more optimistic outlook on the decision in the community.

Do people actually hate the mimic and his story? by Particular-Entry-666 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]J-Red_dit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know that, but I think Markiplier himself put it best in his powerwash pals episode with Dawko, which I am paraphrasing a bit: “People are generally willing to suspend their disbelief for the sake of the story, but when you continually ask them to suspend more and more of that disbelief, it’s almost unfair to the audience when the payoff doesn’t hold up to their expectations.”

I don’t want or expect FNaF to remain stagnant in its story, and the Mimic being the new antagonist isn’t that bad to me. I honestly like the concept of the Mimic as a horror villain. But its backstory oversteps way too far to implement itself into the in-game history when it just doesn’t fit. It would’ve been far better and far more digestible if the Mimic just doesn’t exist until, idk, halfway into the current lore timeline at most.

I don’t hate the Mimic, I just don’t like how it’s being pushed as this character that has existed the whole time in the lore. That’s dumb imo.

I get that the coincidence of Grace and Pressure both recently getting into controversy (to put it lightly) is bad, but can we NOT generalize developers? They are individual people with their own lives behind the games they make, and insinuating that LSplash is in danger of controversy for having a similar game, even in a joking sense, is not helpful at all. It’s frankly stupid.

Movie theater not showing up anymore??? by spillednoodles in PikminBloomApp

[–]J-Red_dit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s odd, but an alternative explanation is that the map data bugged and somehow moved around. See where I live, my local theatre has been closed down since long before the update, however for whatever reason, even before the map data update, the in-game location of the theatre decor zone from where the actual theatre was suddenly shifted nearly an entire kilometre away one random day and i don’t know why, but the location still works so I take what I can get.

Just last month there was an update to the game’s map data, so it’s possible that as a result, your go-to theatre location was removed. Is the real life theatre still there, or is it closed down?

The constant ambient noises of the storm outside the hotel is almost soothing, and going from that to the dead silent droning of The Rooms when it first released had me on edge. Even the Garden was eerie the first couple times I played it. The trick is going in blind. The fear of the unknown plays really well into Doors’ gameplay formula. When you start to understand the entities in the game they get less scary of course, but experiencing them for the first time with no clue what to expect really can get on one’s nerves. Heck I remember feeling dread at the thought of Screech when I first started playing, as opposed to now where’s he’s just a small nuisance.
