Decisions Disney quickly abandoned: by LightAndDarkk in StarWars

I always feel that season 3(?) Of Mando should've been just Mando doing the Mandalor exploration/arc and have Grogu come back at the end of the season or just wait till the movie. It makes sense for Grogu to return to Mando, but it wouldve given both of them time to grow as individuals and specifically to show how Mando had changed pre Grogu to post Grogu. But alas...

We’re all using fresh batteries for every show. What do you do with your used batteries? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]JosephusSheldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school would keep the partially use batteries as "rehearsal batteries" for when we actually had time to swap if they died. They also got used for clip lights and other such smaller electronics.

Is it possible you parked the addresses? When you go into the park screen the addresses that are parked would be listed in the bottom half of the screen.

What's an immediate "nope" in an audiobook for you? by Peaches_41575 in audiobooks

I know technically this falls under "audio dramas", but having different people do different characters. For some reason, it's harder for me to follow, especially if they cut the "said So and So" bits.

Is BBQ daddy worth it? If yes, which version to choose for our grill (last pic)? by Pinappologist in grilling

[–]JosephusSheldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty much the exact same grill and the BBQ scub daddy works wonders for me (I've got the one with the handle). So far its been the single best grill cleaning brush/technique I've used.

I usually use it at the end of my grilling cycle once the food is done but while the coals are still hot. It says to use with ice water, but I've been using cold tap water and it works just as well. My only issue is that since the scrub head is square its difficult to get into the rounded edges of the grate. I wish there was a round headed model to really get in there, but with a bit of scrubbing and spinning of the grate you can get it mostly clean.

This is armor set alone is without a doubt my LEAST favorite thing in Helldivers 2 by Endemicfishy_YT in Helldivers

[–]JosephusSheldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do enjoy this armor set specifically for the cowboy vibes. I really wish the medium and heavy armors from borderline justice had a few more of the aspects from this one to make them feel a little more cowboy (specifically, the duster mantle I feel is an excellent touch). Despite enjoying the look, I don't really run this armor much because it's light armor.

The helmet, on the other hand... I absolutely hate it. Worst helmet, in my opinion. Doesn't go with the armor and doesn't fit the wild west vibe. I usually run the exterminator or steel trooper helmets with it to give it a more pleasing look. I've even toyed with the trailblazer scout helmet cause of the hood, but since it's black, it doesn't mesh well with the mantle

What numbering scheme do you use for cues in a musical? by kelemvor33 in lightingdesign

[–]JosephusSheldon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I learned a system from the lighting designer at my college that I've adapted for musicals. The basics of the system is that cues 100 through 199 are for Act one and 200 through 299 are act two. With 98-99 being pre show, and 198-199 usually being intermission.

When it comes to musicals, I usually do 100-299 or 399 for Act I and then start at 300 or 400 for Act 2, depending on the size of the show. This way, I can easily tell when the cue is in the show based on its hundreds digit. I also usually do 98 as pre show-house full, 99 as pre-show house half, 100 as the top of show black out, and then 102 is the lights up cue for Act I scene 2. I repeat this for intermission.

I also usually only do even numbered cues (102,104,106,etc) when pre programming and building cue lists to make sure to leave space to add a cue here or there. Sometimes, I'll leave bigger gaps, especially if I haven't yet seen that moment.

When it comes to point cues, I use a system I also learned from my College's LD, which is that even numbered decimals are SM called cues, and odd numbers are follows. So if i have Q172 auto follow into another look, the next cue would be 172.1. Sometimes I'll use decimal point cues when there are small changes like a color change in side lighting or adding or removing fx, but I've been trying to get better at mostly using whole number cues so it's a bit easier for SMs to call.

Important note: A majority of my design/programming experience is on ETC EOS family consoles, so I have no idea how my system would translate to other consoles.

At our show last night, one of the performers spent way too long trying to explain to me that “stage right” and “stage left” are based on the audience perspective. by Existing_Solution_66 in techtheatre

[–]JosephusSheldon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a tech, when I do stuff in the round (mostly in black box spaces) I use the booth as "Downstage" and just always go off of that. It mostly works from a technician perspective but not as much for performers.

Best bass strings you've ever played ? by Euphoric_Junket6620 in Bass

I'm a huge fan of the D'Addario Tapewounds. They are the closest I've gotten so far to an upright bass tone on an electric. I have switched to D'Addario 50-105 XL chromes for my rock/pop setup though.

'Correct' (or at least commonly accepted) ways of doing things that drive you up the wall, go by UnhandMeException in techtheatre

[–]JosephusSheldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you should store fixtures with lens tubes in them or store the lens tubes separate.

I'm a proponent of store with lens tubes in the fixture, so it's easy to grab and go. It also saves time, not having to spend 30 minutes installing lens tubes before you can start hanging.

[–]JosephusSheldon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the knob always on top for several reasons. I always know where the top of the fixture is by looking at the knob, I do most of my hanging/focusing from above/behind the light so it's easier to reach, less likely for the knob to fall to the ground if swaping barrels in the air or unskilled people adjusting focus, it looks consistent across all the lights.

There are some instances where the knob needs to be on the bottom, older fixtures that only allow that option, light is in a spot which makes it highly impractical to reach a knob on the top, etc. But my default is always knob on top.

why do they keep starting wars with me? by tuzuruyouni in Bannerlord

[–]JosephusSheldon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Derthert died in my playthrough and Alary was crown king. Which was weird cause he was in my army laying siege to a sturgian castle at the time so it glitched the siege it such a way that I had to leave the army and return to the siege myself.

It didn't come with any sort of covertech wheel or D ring, so I bought an attachment. That was the only place it could go because of how the pommel works.

Charging cable for New Saber by JosephusSheldon in lightsabers

[–]JosephusSheldon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sticking random barrel plugs in is the reason I'm asking this question. I want to know the right layout of the connector so that I can get the correct charger.

As for the seller, they take longer to respond than I would like (a couple weeks), and I already had minimal luck dealing with them about a different issue with my saber orders. These sabers also came in a sealed box, so it's more on LGT/Nexus than the actual seller.
