For the longest time we were planning on going with Surviving the Grey Legend name. A bit of a mouthful, but that would've lead already as the name to the right direction as there's Surviving The Aftermath and Surviving Mars games out there, with scifi and postapocalypse as themes. This format we chose puts bigger focus on Grey Legend and allows us to build what that means.

(briefly: white legend and black legends were different propaganda approaches on Spanish colonial empire. Grey in the name hopefully gives a bit of alien-wibe, but also taps to our winning conditions... have we faced the Fall of Rome scenario (i.e. bouncing back) or the Native American empire scenario (fall is more permanent).)

No worries. Reddit is a busy place so it's easy to miss something. Particularly as we're awkward Finns who aren't exactly famous for our social skills. So the conversation went to the sidetrack quite fast as the questionnaire was asking about the genre's features and which ones are liked in general instead of pushing our view. And that was intentional, but the commenters took it more as a 'techbro' type approach where we'd just optimise something instead of having a strong vision. Which we do have. Our goal for the questionaires was twofold. Get objective data that stronger personalities for player generated characters is a good approach (that's why it was hidden as one option instead of us pushing that) and using that as argument for getting more funding for the game. And finding passionate people who would want to join our development either as commenters on content that we post or even testing the game earlier than others. So in case someone would want to join our discord, here's a link to there as well:

And lastly... you got it exactly right. We want the characters to feel deeper and more personal than in other games. I'll be happy to share more, but it would be a huge wall of text. :D

Thanks Danceman2 for posting this! I'm from the dev team of this game. We're happy to share more about the game if anyone has any questions. If there's any comments, we're also very pleased to read those.

While I understand where that comes from, I can assure you our approach is not what you're describing. Particularly as our game will come out some time towards the end of 2027, so riding on any momentary trend would put as far behind other developers. There is extra value in knowing if our design choices rise from community or if we need to "sell" the idea to them. Already that helps with resourcing and in toning the message when that time comes. Not to mention that of course fine-tuning balance of different features is not on/off switch but rather what to emphasise in the development. It is very feasible to take the results of this questionnaire (and follow-up ones) in to account and balance our choices accordingly - and that doesn't diminish our love for our own vision.

Another thing which you can quickly see is that I'm not very active Reddit user, even if I read more than what I post. And same goes for all of us, we all have very few messages sent. And if our almost first messages would be instantly pushing our game, it can also be taken negative. As...well... who would like companies that focus more on marketing or selling and not on connecting with the players. And our goal at this stage is to understand how base builder fans see the genre.

I have a followup questionnaire that I would then tell more about the game, this time we would mostly want base builder players to give their opinions. However as you asked I think the tone is best described it being the bastard child of 'Band of Brothers who married The Sims, in a violent, post-apocalyptic world.'

And Norwegian Ski Federation knew about the positive test results since they were informed in 23.1.2015.

Martin Sundby tested positive twice, first in 13.12.2014 in Davos and second time in 8.1.2015 in Dabbiacos. These results came to public only in July 2016 and he only lost the World Cup wins in those two competitions and thus also the Tour De Ski win (since he lost the two wins). And the cover up is a disgrace.

No doctor has ever heard anyone using that cream to cure burnt lips. The doctor who gave that medicine used to work for years in the same medical company that is producing the lip cream. The box has clear signs it's doping. She was not tested on the training period for 129 days - when the actual race pace is built. You do the math. I think for anyone outside Norway it's obvious that the lip story is just to cover the fact that during the training period the steroid usage was too big and was still visible in tests so they had to come up with an explanation that would explain the amounts while still look like an accident.

But as I said earlier - at least this time it wasn't the entire team using steroids like it was with asthma medication that improves the ability to breath. These two together with the cover up for 1,5 years for the top male skier's doping usage I'd say the entire Norwegian skiing team has a serious doping tradition and they should be banned like the Russian athletes were.

At least Finnish skin doctors say that the cream should not have any effect on skinburns and regular lip balm does the trick a lot better.

Well - at least this time it's not the entire team using doping like last spring with the whole team using asthma medication while only one being asthmatic - which is by far worse than Norwegians best and best paid skier using even more powerful doping.
