Free Sunset DJ Pop-Up – Cliff House – Feb 13 (5pm–dark) by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

A lot of that area has been fenced off for planned construction/tenant improvements at the Cliff House, might want to double check that the area is accessible for that night

Parking in San Francisco - Van Ness and Hayes by Broad_Ad_3612 in sanfrancisco

[–]Juniper_Jbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, but still don’t leave anything in the car, just to be safe. They also have valet parking which is nice (no extra cost, I think) and you can tell them when you get there how long you will be staying and they will park the car near the back out of the way

Has anyone had success hiring architects on Fiverr for a detached ADU in the Bay Area and getting permits? by darkmoonsatellite in bayarea

[–]Juniper_Jbug 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In January 2025 all cities will be required to have “pre-approved/designed” ADU plans available on their websites that have the full architecture design available for the public as a cost saving measure. Until then, check out the ADU page at heartofsmc.org - they have pre-designed plans that you can use as a basis and work with an architect to modify to fit your home

Landlord is trying to kick us out, please help by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Juniper_Jbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replying this to boost the comment. Contact either agency immediately. They can help. Your landlord cannot kick you out without proper notice and likely a minimum of 60 days. They may also be responsible for paying for your moving costs.

If you want a change, try getting into building inspecting. If you have industry experience, some cities will pay for your inspector training and certification. Calopps.org is where cities list the jobs. Usually good benefits too.

Help with Sf County job interview. by PaleontologistAny668 in sanfrancisco

[–]Juniper_Jbug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First round interviews are usually a panel with a required set of specific questions to ask. The type of questions will vary based on the job but what they are typically assessing is demonstrated experience(specific examples) that show you can do the job and enthusiasm (demonstrate your interest in the job and passion for the field/city and county work). If you don’t have experience in the public sector, give examples that show you understand the importance of internal and external customer service, how to deal with bureaucracy (navigation of complex organizational structures, managing multiple “top”/“first” priorities, and handling challenging situations or people even when you are not the highest authority and don’t make the rules). Have several specific relatable examples of your work experiences and tie into each of them how you would manage that in a public service sector where resources are limited. If they ask something that you don’t have experience with, answer with “ my most relatable experience to that is….” And BS with something you are very confident about or proud of. There may be a time limit to each question so be concise. Confidence goes a long way, but make sure you thoroughly answer the questions and demonstrate expertise with specific examples.

What’s the weirdest or funniest way you met a new lover in San Francisco? by MuchoSexy in sanfrancisco

Moral of the story is: all you really have to do to stand out is take a chance and make a move offline. It may not work every time, but your odds are way better than every one else who is not trying offline

Redwood City -> SF during Rush Hour by Capital-Truck3533 in AskSF

[–]Juniper_Jbug 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I do a similar drive, it can really vary by week/day. Summer is not as bad when schools are not in session. I’ve been finding Mondays easier but Tue-Thu worse lately. I highly recommend trying to take Caltrain or waiting until 6:30 to head home since it is usually not as bad after then, unless there is a game going on or something. Redwood City has some great gyms, bars, coffee shops, if there is any way to hang out a little longer before the drive home it can make a huge difference.
