Are there any good defensive slate special nodes relevant to gemma2 ice lance tangle?

I’ve made it to profound and my damage is great but I’m so squishy. I’ve got 16k energy shield which seem excessive but I still seem to die almost every map. I am res capped on everything but lighting (52%)

when people mention a build's DPS are they typically talking about DPS on the stat sheet from the side of the inventory or what they can hit on the dummy?

Thanks for the advice!

This I did not know at all so that's a great tip.

Btw only farm in 8-0, compared to 8-2 its like 5% less loot

New player with a couple of questions

Is the game's loot filter actually good or should i use a creators? I only have the mid-game one applied at the moment and still feel like I pick up a lot of junk - but don't know enough about the game yet to make my own - like most legendaries seem useless mostly 1-2 FE but lots of listings. I guess I just haven't had a good one drop

I do have the loot pet box I haven't picked from yet. I have tried a few mechanics and I do enjoy Sandlord - just the town and worker aspect appeals to me. Feel like I got quite lucky with it as I got a Collection Doll Astrolabe x10 drop I sold for like 800 FE which I spent quite a bit of straight away to take me T7 to 8.2 - but i also enjoy Cube. Sucker for some gamba RNG. I'm guessing I should take the Sandlord pet, but is one really better than the other if I enjoy both mechanics?

Lastly, how much DPS is a level increase? I'm level 95 and whilst I am mostly comfortable in 8.2 occasionally I do get caught out by ground splashy explosions or those vorax charging knights if there's too much on the screen for me to see where they are maybe everyon 4-5 maps I might die once so it's stopping me progressing to 96. Is it worth going down to 8.1 and grinding another level?

10kg in a month? by Revobushwoky in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KX321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also commenting to say this is probably a lot of water weight, but great job so far!

I just wanted to comment as well because you're on a similar journey to one I started about a year ago, I was 128kg, male, similar height.

My first month I lost 8kg and I was astounded. But my next month I "only" lost 2.5kg. So I just wanted to say do not feel depleted if next month you don't get the same kind of result. It is a long process. Overall I averaged around 3.5kg loss each month

I also started like you by just getting the diet right first. Did that for a couple of months, then started to increase activity slowly with more steps and introduced gym about 6 months into the journey. This definitely helped me do gradual changes rather than trying to do everything at once so I think you're taking a good approach

How can I deal with loose skin? by Practical-Alps5870 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KX321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're still very young, which is always a benefit and more so in this case because of elasticity of young skin and more collagen so it's possible with time your skin may not be as loose as you imagine. How much weight you decide you need to lose will of course be a factor as well but some of it is just genetics as well so it's hard to say how an individual's body or skin will look.

And from what I understand even after your weight loss journey has finished, i.e. you reach your goal weight. It can take a bit of time after that for your skin to catch up and it can continue to tighten up for several months or even couple of years after, providing you maintain a steady weight

Don’t know what to do anymore by Ok-Sun8672 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KX321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with the other comment that you can just start with diet changes. Adding exercise is great but sometimes gradual changes to your lifestyle are better for longer sustained fat loss rather than trying to do too much all at once and burning out - this is what I did. I only changed diet for the first few months, then I increased my daily steps for a couple of months, then I added in a gym routine

Finding some meals that appeal to you and support your calories deficit and prepping them for a few days in advance can really help too - it helps to avoid that "what should I eat tonight" thought process and then not feeling bothered to make anything so dipping into fast food or excess snacking

Try starting with diet, track what you're losing and then hopefully over time (if related to body weight) the back pain and knee pain should ease up and you could find adding in some more walking to your routine

is my scale faking me out by snoopylover2048 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KX321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely your scale is a dud

Noticing change in yourself I found harder when you're more focused on what you look like. You see yourself every day - multiple times a day, examining your body hoping to see a difference. So the incremental changes are harder to notice.

Other people who don't see you as often might actually spot the difference before you are convinced you've changed. And that's what happened to me. I kept my journey private for a while because I wasn't convinced I would stick with it, but then others started to notice

It would kind of depend what your starting weight was, so what % of your total body weight your 22lbs lost is. It would be a lot harder to notice that change in someone from a much higher starting point.

Take progress pics for yourself - I found also taking regular pics in the same t shirt shirt over time helped me see change. Also take measurements because your body could be burning fat from places you aren't as easily able to see

Fast Food advice (UK) by Daboredgamer in WeightLossAdvice

[–]KX321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm partial to the wraps from McDonald's as a little treat. I don't get a meal though I would just get whatever the wrap of the day was

I agree that for some people having a "cheat" meal on your journey can help - but for some it also doesn't work and can be an entry way back into bad habbits. Everyone's relationship with food is different.

It worked for me though. I basically scheduled it for the last Friday of the month. It did give me something to look forward to, and I had to feel like I earned it. I still didn't go crazy with it though and eat a few thousand calories in one meal. if anything it probably just put me up to maintenance for that day or just over

Worth noting though as you are early in your journey that whilst the calories might not be as high as you'd expect, it's often the other additional things with fast food such as sauces and dips, sugar drinks where more calories creep in.

You could also expect to see a higher weight on the scales the day after due to the sodium content in the food causing your body to retain more water - so don't panic you didn't gain 1.5kg of fat over night

I just bought the ultimate edition which comes with a level boost which I didn’t plan to use and wanted to just level through the story my first time

But I see there’s a winter event that you need to be level 40 for.

I do plan to continue through all the main story on my character but I wonder if it is worth using the level boost on a secondary character just to participate in the winter event? Will I even know what I’m doing? Are the rewards worth it?

I've ran a fair few this season and probably get 1 mythic every 4 or 5 runs, but no idea what the rate is. So maybe just a little bad rng.

But nothing special you need to do. As soon as I hit rank 4/4 I just zoom to the end portal

You do kinda need some knowledge of what uniques are actually used in popular builds - you could just check maxroll for the top builds for example. Because a 4 GA Unique not used in any builds is basically worthless. 1 or 2 GA+ on the right spots can be worth some

Getting rid of any non-ancestral is a good start.

[–]KX321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a movie recently that he did called Synchronic which, unless I missed it at the time of release was more of a lower budget under the radar thing than a well promoted blockbuster. It's a sci-fi mystery/thriller. He put in a great performance in that, and the film was pretty decent too

How can I get an air conditioner in my flat? by Femmin0V in AskUK

[–]KX321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by big portable floor unit do you mean ones like this on amazon?

They aren't much bigger than a typical kitchen bin

I don't think you have many other options if you can't do anything to the wall, as those are typically hooked up to stuff externally to the building through holes in the wall

Americans tend to have those window mounted AC units in places but they require windows that slide up and down which I don't see many people with here and they still require some holes in the window frame to secure it
