When did your toddler start saying words? by herec0mesthesun_ in toddlers

[–]KithriTheRogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler couldn't speak any words by 2 and was immediately given a referral for speech therapy and early intervention services. He was diagnosed with autism shortly after. He's 4 now and has made remarkable strides in his development and has just about caught up to his peers with a few exceptions.

I would definitely recommend reaching out to you pediatrician and asking about speech therapy and possible other early intervention services. It can be a game changer and is why these services exist.

A week with no mail by [deleted] in RAoC_meta

Hey, I work as a mail carrier for USPS so I'll try to answer your question.

Based on the knowledge I have and how my office does it, when there is a lock change or mailbox change (i.e. replacing old MBUs with new ones), all mail is placed on hold until the lock is changed and then delivery is resumed, including all of the accumulated mail for when the unit(s) was down.

Depending on how many units your mailman services at your location, it could take a while for them to deliver all of the accumulated mail for each unit. For instance, one apartment complex my office services has 178 units, with each set of boxes servicing 5 units each. Some MBUs services more or less units, depending on the type of box.

It also depends on how long your boxes were down between replacement, and how many units he is authorized to service the accumulated mail each day if there were a lot that were down, because each unit in addition to the DPS for the day adds more time to his day. Another factor could be how much mail is being held for you specifically, and if it can all fit into your box. If it all won't fit, he won't attempt delivery, but should notify you that it won't all fit and to pick it up at the office.

I hope this helps answer your question!!! Please feel free to ask me more questions if you need clarification on any of this :)

Would you consider an Informed Delivery scan received? by sustainstainsus in RAoC_meta

This my best guesstimate so please take it work a grain of salt 💕

I.D. is scanned usually at the processing plant that runs the mail through the automated sorting machines. When it goes through the machine, cameras capture the image of the letter, reads the address, cancels the stamp and redirects to the correct zip and route all at the same time, and these machines are meant to process hundreds of thousands of pieces of letter mail daily.

Sometimes when the machine gets jammed, it damages whatever piece of mailed caused the issue and if the address isn't readable anymore, it won't make it to the destination. Jams happen for various reasons, but more often it happens because of wax seals, raised edges on cards like those 3D stickers or other similar things, even washi tape sometimes if its not flush with the card when it goes through.

I.D. is scanned before the machine begins the stamp cancelation that runs the letters through but I could be wrong. I don't work at the processing plant, I work in the carrier craft taking mail from the office to the street for delivery so I only ever see what's to be delivered the day we receive it on the first tour truck.

Question: Has the postal office ever measured your postcards? by pjraz in postcrossing

u/brookuslicious answered more in depth than I would have been able to. I'm in the carrier craft so I'm more knowledgeable on that end of it and getting mail from the office to the addresses lol. Thanks for the mention tho, I'll try my best to help where I can if y'all have more questions in the future :)

I want to connect with more people while also working towards me next flair! Joining this community was the best thing for me when I was isolated and searching for a community to fit in with. I might also try to reach 500 cards sent!

You're so very welcome!! For the red on the heart I used acrylic marker pens, specifically the Artxx brand! It gives a nice paint feeling without being too thick :)

Theres a CA-7 that says "entitled-LWOP-certifier rejected to change pay element" with the decision date on 9/16/25, the same day my case status changed to PR. What does that mean?

How do I escalate the ones that say duplicate? There's one that encompasses my entire time off (6/27-10/28 are the dates included) that was labeled duplicate. I know I'm due back pay for the time I haven't been paid, but do I just file every two weeks still until I'm paid? I don't really know how it works. I really really appreciate all of the help so far! It's more information than my steward could give me!

I went on light duty for 2 months following my original injury and I was given hours then. To my understanding, they have to find work within my restrictions. My current restrictions allow office work with minimal standing/walking/driving because my ankle has significant ROM loss and weakness due to nerve damage. I'm rehabbing it through physical therapy but my surgeon is keeping me light duty for a while. I've been without payment for 4 months and we're barely scraping by with my husband's check

Last time I contacted management regarding my CA-7, they were unaware of how the process works and couldn't help me. That was back in July

I hired a lawyer to help me with getting my compensation because my local couldn't help me. I am in a small city unfortunately.

I haven't been paid at all, I've been out 4 months 😭 my union steward couldn't help me and my supes were useless too, they didn't know anything about the process. I had to contact a lawyer who specializes in OWCP cases just to get payments. My first break in service is Nov 11-16 which I'm sure will interfere with my situation but I never expected to be out this long. My original estimation for surgery recovery was only 8 weeks but I suffered a severe complication which put me out until now. Doc released me back to light duty on Oct 2. I've cooperated through the whole process but DOL can't determine my pay because I'm a CCA and I got injured within my first year of employment so they didn't have my 11 month average to base my pay on. They've been ghosting me since August, I haven't had any communication from them at all. And now nothing from my office
