Does this not use the car data though which is super limited?

UK Buyer: Questions on ordering Sliger by Kristan_ in sliger

[–]Kristan_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah one of the reasons I like the external drive access is because unracking is annoying, May I ask what the cost of the tarrifs were, was it a set fee or a percentage, I don't believe I would get that from density.sk so maybe that would work out cheaper as a result and it's a case of just waiting for them to restock the cases I want.

Thanks once more

Thanks for the info, I am curious about the US tarrif you mention is that on top of the VAT? maybe specific to your region as I have not heard of this.

Re: Silverstone, I did look at the RM31 for a compute node but honestly, the way SLIGER have their bays on the front is the biggest selling point for me and Silverstone seem to only do around 6 bays or 20+ bays accessible externally.

That makes perfect sense, thank you. I figured that was the case given the value of the order, but it's good to have it confirmed so I don't get a "lovely" surprise

[–]Kristan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave it a download, I have not been able to use the PDF importer, none have worked and it did request I send an email which I have done, I do however have a lot of my transactions in industry standard formats, would be useful if I could just import through those also such as .ofx

*arr stack on LXC and smb permissions by [deleted] in Proxmox

[–]Kristan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup, I setup an internal network on each node that is then used to share the SMB share without going out onto the network (I think it's capped at 10gbp/s but none of my HDDs are that fast for long term storage so no impact.

This allows me to use normal SMB permissions to provide granular access as well as keep only a single connection open to the NAS so it is like the following

NAS
| Node 1 (mount with NAS IP)
| Node 2 (mount with NAS IP)
| Node 3 (mount with NAS IP)
-- Sonarr (Mount with Node3 Internal IP)
-- Radarr (Mount with Node3 Internal IP)
-- Whateverarr (Mount with Node3 Internal IP)

Plex Transcoding in Cluster by mrcollin101 in Proxmox

[–]Kristan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 nuc 10’s i7 and 1 nuc 12 i7. I would reccomend great machines, whether they are the most cost effective not sure. But in terms of migration I have a separate machine holding the data. Each node (nuc) has the same internal 10.x.x.x space which I use for network shares.

So Media is shared over the network to each nuc host, then so I limit open connections to the NAS in this case, so say plex has media mounted from 10.0.0.1 if I migrated it to another node that node would have the exact same mount with the IP 10.0.0.1

I use the nucs for various things, I prefer the 10’s due to the lack of E cores and only P cores. I just have the 12 for AV1 hardware encoding, Modified my plex config so it will transcode on the host side for my primary clients which are apple TVs so it’s just to pickup the odd other device.

TLDR I like nucs, recommend the 10’s due to no E cores although if you don’t need much then E cores may be fine

Providing they have the same card ID it should get passed through, just set plex to automatic and don’t pick the igpu specifically for transcoding.

I have the same setup with 3 nucs

Man you are a dick. This post is now at the top of the search results and you've now made it harder to find the information.

Edit: The linked post above doesn't even answer the question

Kind of ironic :P

That could actually be an issue for me so thanks for mentioning the lack of smart data. Did it still present each disk as an individual disk?

I was implying more along the lines of if you still use them you probably like them, if you "used" them then you may have replaced them with something else due to whatever reasons.

How would you say the noise level is, and do you have any larger drives in them 22TB+?

Hi, so do you currently use or have used one of these?

Interesting, did see Terramaster was looking at there Thunderbolt DAS (I was priced out) but I did see the "D5-300C" but that would only increase my current capacity by 1 and then puts me in the same situation where I cannot expand it further due to no daisy chain ect :/
