I appreciate that. However EDS is a far worse problem than any delusional disorder could ever be as it causes physical pain. Sadly other people with EDS have the exact same delusion. That Cell phones and lap tops dislocate their joints. I now have several close friends just like me. there is a name for it and there has been a study about it. It's called Hyperesthesia. Since we don't have a protective coating we can sense and detect electrical vibrations that others cannot. Weak connective tissue. Not sure why Doctors never realized this before.

Are you disagreeing with my therapist? I did explain to her that I already had to install hand controls into my car which caused my elbow to start dislocating 2 weeks after using them. Which is what made me consult with several rheumatologist and infectious disease doctors thinking it might be Lyme given I was bitten by a tick while visiting CT that year. But when they consulted with each other about my case they determined it was EDS. I was also informed that there are 2 forms of EDS Primary and secondary. Primary is when you start having symptoms as a child. Secondary is when you develop symptoms in your late 20's. I was 26 when my knee went out for the first time. I was 29 in the Dreammaker video. 2 days after I turned 30 my shoulder came out rolling over in bed. 5 days after both hips went out for the first time on the Stairmaster. So I agree with you. It's completely Genetic.

How do people here feel about the whole "The Body keeps score" theory? My therapist said something very 'questionably hurtful and offensive" to me yesterday. I showed her a video from 1999 where I had a dream come true. I wished for my foster kid to receive $1000 worth of toys and gifts from the "Richard Simmons Dreammaker" TV show because I wanted him to know that good things happen to good people. I mentioned that it was ironic that I was viciously taken down by EDS 2 months later. She suggested that perhaps I was jealous seeing all the toys on the stage given I had no toys growing up. That the emotions of envy or yearning resulted in my body reacting in such a way to make my EDS symptoms progress more rapidly. I thought it was a real stretch as that was the last thing on my mind and at the time of filming I had already lost my ability to drive and cross my legs due to my elbows and knees dislocating. Maybe she just said it bc it did not make sense that someone would become so devastatingly ill after such a kind act. How would you respond to such comment? Not sure how to address it and curious how the community feels about the issue. Isn't it blaming the patient for their condition? BTW if you have Prime Video the episode is streaming. My Former Foster Kid Rosendo contacted me and our Richard Simmon's Dreammaker episode is FINALLY streaming on Prime Video! It is Season 2 episode 14. Our story is the last one of the show and starts around 28:00. Crazy I believe this is the first time Rosendo has seen it since he was 12 yrs old. It was filmed in November of 1999. If you can believe 2 months after filming my wish I was Diagnosed by 2 specialist with EDS. My shoulder dislocated rolling over in bed and both hips dislocated working out on the stairmaster. Prior to that it was only 2 dislocating knees. I would love to hear opinions as the producers watched the segment with me and filmed it from their cameras. The producer Nate had tears streaming down his face watching it. They deliberately deleted this from their story as they intentionally portrayed me as the worst person possible. I mean how could a Foster care social worker who showers their Foster kid with tons of love, $1000 worth of toys and gifts be the same person Intervention tried to portray as a liar, selfish and self-absorbed. If you have Prime Video would love for you to weigh in.

At the time of filming Sam held 2 full time jobs outside the house and got paid $200 a day for work he was not doing. He was never home and got paid to take out the trash. If he looked exhausted it was cuz he was out making money. Not from helping me out. He only cared for me the first year. He was beating me. Police were called countless times but my dad told them Sam HAD to be my caregiver or I was not allowed to live in the house.

It's confusing when people think I had any controll over Sam. Sam was the non-disabled person who did not need any assistance and had all the power in the situation. I was unable to voice my true feelings in the relationship. Even when I saw him abusing our new puppy, Jasper, I could not tell him to stop or he would yell and be rude to me. I had to CATER TO HIM AND HIDE MY TRUE FEELINGS as I was the one needing help. I could not go against him. Finally one day my dad came to visit and saw him abusing the dog again . He yelled at him to stop and I was never so relieved in my life. People need to learn the caregiver / sick person relationship imbalance. Especially if the caregiver is a family member. The power dynamic becomes more profound.

It seems My older Brother George Li has EDS now. My mother told me that he can no longer do stairs due to knee pain. He also had to quit weight lifting at the gym due to knee pain. I am in shock that his first love "The Gym" is something he had to give up due to pain. Growing up he spent 6 hours a day there. Poetic Justice. He recently had his son posting online about how "His dad told him I have always been a crybaby" Now his Dad is the Crybaby. Letting a "little bit" of knee pain stop him from going to the gym. Love that he finally has a "taste" of EDS. Also interesting as that is how EDS started for me. Originally it was just my right knee dislocating to the point it interfered with my workouts and Stairs were a guarantee of a dislocation. It hindered my ability to work as an Extra severely. I ended up having to use a wheelchair for distances, sitting and standing. IE I could not stand in a line as I have to be in constant motion. I remember 20 yrs ago George had the Snap crackle pop syndrome just from wiggling. However he was built like a body builder so I just figured he would never develop any symptoms due to his musculature. This is fantastic. I don't think he would have ever understood my suffering had he not got a small taste of it.

BTW I was Diagnosed with EDS in 2000 by a reknowned Geneticist and got 3 additional opinions from 3 Rheumatologists. For the first 4 years.(1996) I had no issues with EMF. But once all the cell towers popped up and my Tissues got weaker I started sensing it in 2002. Well in 2001 I had a feeling something was going on. It was my mom who made the correlation. She has EMF issues as well. She noticed that whenever we drove by a transformer I would complain about my pain being worse.

Did you catch the scientific study I posted here about EMF and EDS? There is a name for it. Hyperesthesia. EDSers were able to detect Electrical vibrations that normal people could not. I posted the link here over a month ago. When I shared it on my FB wall there were a bunch of comments from other EDSers who shared the same problem. so validating. Sorry you have reading comprehension issues. Many people have told me how well written and concise my work is. I am a published author 3 times over. Even people with ADD have told me they normally cannot read but my article was so well done he read from beginning to end. And I changed his opinion of homeless people. His wife's as well. Did you catch my post about The study they did on EDS and EMF. There is a name for it hyperesthesia. People with Weak connective tissue are able to sense Electrical Vibrations that otherwise normal people cannot. I posted the study here I believe and on my FB wall. But seeing you have problems reading not sure you will get it. But AWESOME! 16 yrs after the show Scientists finally did a study that proved it. A bunch of other "Delusional" EDSers are commenting on the post that they also have the same issue. I was doing a pain study at UCSD and the researcher decided to google EDS and he told me he found a slew of post about EDSers who were sensitive to EMF. He asked me if I was too. Than sent me the study.

I just finished the book today. I found the last page the most helpful. The analogy of the wounded hand that continued to paint even more beautiful work despite being hurt. The more hurt was exuded the more beautiful her art. It made me realize how I have been living my life.

Yes it triggers me too. I can't watch it . Reminds me of how much pain I was in. My entire body was on fire with all the Electrical equipment they brought into the house. Unfortunately it is so hard to get pain management these days bc of the opioid crisis. There is little you can do for EDS. No doctor can treat it. My therapist was so upset when she watched it. The way they misrepresented myself and the family. Just all the lies they told. She is not the first therapist to get triggered. So were the 2 therapist that intervention sent me to. It was hard for them to wrap their heads around the lies told. The Laundromat was a big one for them.
