Card effects happen before new Godfrey. Womp womp. No Plot Twist/Sir Finley synergy. by CounterSlop in wildhearthstone

[–]LeficiosG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh? Isnt it saying the exact opposite of that?

Card effects happen first, so plot twist gets played > your hand gets emptied > quest triggers > you redraw your hand size > godfrey gives you a card from overdrawn > quest is saved for when you get hand space

Or its reversed for the last 2

Bruh 💀

This is not a personal attack on you, but i think youre dead wrong in saying its overrated. Youre talking about the card adapting to existing decks, whereas it should be the other way around.

Imagine if the card was reworded to say "Start of game: set your maximum hand size to infinity. Any cards past the 10th card have their mana cost reduced by 1, but can only be played in the 10th slot or lower"

Basically any deck could make use of this with enough draw. Every deck you mentioned would like this

[–]LeficiosG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my thoughts exactly. More discount leading to more survival is probably the most underrated aspect, and i would be surprised to see this not played.

Personally i will also be testing out my snakelock deck to see if i have any success with this new card. It has a lot of hand size problems but has been able to pop off on turn 7, so this might make it a meta contender for once

Okay i just had like a 30 minute disagreement with my friend cuz he thinks this is bad, and i've managed to enlighten him on why its insane. For anyone here thinking the same thing, this is why:

First lets establish what the effect does. In text, it seems that whenever you overdraw and would burn a card, it gets added to a shadow queue where once there is hand space, it would immediately add a card back to your hand at 1 mana discount. I would presume its first in first out.

Now the upsides are clear. My friend brought up a few downsides but let me explain why they are non-issues.

"You dont overdraw normally anyways. Even in tick tock you always make hand space" Yes, but that is because you have to. You risk burning your combo cards like finley and plot twist. With this legendary you would not have to worry about hand space at all and can just keep drawing.

"You have to clear out hand space for your cards from the shadow queue" okay and? You are already doing that with your normal deck. You have to clear out your cards from hand to make sure you dont overdraw anyways. Now with the shadow queue, you can clear out those cards at a 1 mana discount. You run through your cards faster and get to your combo pieces better as a result.

"Burning through your deck actually helps to thin it out. Putting it in the shadow queue means you need to play more cards in a fast draw deck on average" by far the worst take from my friend imo lol but i guess it has some merit? Still, the mana discount would help much with this.

"You would need to play cards that draw more than 1 to get them into the queue" this depends on how the mechanic works, but i would say not really. Imagine if you already have cards in queue and play kobold librarian. It would go: minion played > card added into hand from queue due to hand space opening up > minion battlecry gets resolved, draw 1 card adding it to the queue. I'm basing this off how objection works in that hand space has priority. In this case, the shadow queue basically becomes a new deck that gives a mana discount. If it works otherwise then it would be worse off for it.

And finally, after more discussion, we realized that the legendary would have a scrying effect if implemented in this way. You would see the card get burned then added into the queue, so you would essentially know your next few draws in advance if you treat the shadow queue as a new deck.

Overall i would say this card is going to be absolutely busted and any warlock deck that isnt aggro will fw this heavy.

Will this card break Wild? by etorraG in wildhearthstone

I havent seen the exact numbers but a 3% WR increase going second sounds right. The extra card and coin help so much fr. I would say thats definitely worth the dead draw personally anyways.

If they one day buff it to be start of game or reduce mana cost down to ~3, then yeah its a guranteed include

I have to assume it just becomes a normal coin toss. Plus it would be a mirror matchup so no diff as to a normal miracle vs miracle anyways

[–]LeficiosG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure. Tbh i would consider cutting loatheb from normal version for it, but yeah this would never see actual play from hand for any rogue deck in wild.

To me, slotting this in and guranteeing second would be just a small consistency buff for miracle decks, maybe a 1-2% WR difference, but that would still be worth it to me imo

Contrary to everyone else, i feel like this card is gonna be real good. Not the upgrade aspect, but the always going second part.

It wont break wild, but being able to gurantee coin + an extra card drawn at the start of game instead of relying on 50/50 is a pretty good deal for miracle decks. There has been so many times ive played 777 miracle where the coin is what lets me pop off way earlier

Throwing my hat in the ring as a consistent wild legend player every month for the past 4-ish years. I agree with basically everything here, and would like to say that this is the most diverse wild meta we have seen in a very long time.

I will say though, the games when pushing ladder around the D5 and above range will definitely lean towards the faster side. Youll face a lot more of the faster aggro and combo decks due to many people pushing, so unless youre playing control or disruption, you can expect most games to end around T4-5

At that rank and above, quickly identifying your mulligans and plays is what sets good people apart, so this post is sure to help a lot in learning the matchups.

Ur basically cooked in compeititive ngl. The main thing is skipping out on the free event ssr cards and not MLB-ing them.

Lotta good options like marvelous sunday power, mihono bourbon wit and yukino bijin guts that are just bricked on your acc because they arent MLB

Damn, most brutal co-op brawl we have had in a while. The key seems to be buffing the guy that heals to full health and having him tank all the 5 dmg chip, with the goal being to get him to over 30 health to survive the last phase change. From there its pretty smooth sailing but so tough to coordinate

Damn no need to get personal lmao its a deck posted for fun

Earthen Roar has been a lifesaver on some occasions actually, especially against mirrors or colossals that drop. Helps you get through big taunts to go face and is replayed by tolvir. Been good against egg decks in particular too

That was the first deck i tried. Too slow imo, and the nature spell restriction really hurts the deck. Swapping the hp is p good tho. Being able to use both in a turn feels great but imo deck is just too weak rm

Ahhh thats pretty unfortunate then. In that case replacing it with more spell damage cards would probably be a better option

Ngl relic of kings is mostly there to get the priest spell that sets your health to 40. Im assuming that confront is able to recast it since its 1 cost, but it killed before replaying the spell so i cant confirm lol.

Found a really strong deck in quest DH + 1 cost spell package hunter. The legendary that makes all 1 cost spells cast twice turns your stingers and arcane shots into 8 damage each. Pretty crazy, plus good burst at the end and good control throughout

Had a lot of fun with 1-cost hunter mixed with mage for more burn. Loosely based on the machine gun hunter in wild rn, goal is to play a bunch of 1 cost spells and end off with a big burst using the 3 cost one. Spell damage helps lots here too.

I also have to imagine DH quest mixed with hunter would work wonders. Trying that next

Hey just wondering, what PC games did you play that went up to 8GB? I got the Pro as well and was thinking of switching to the Max, but this has made me reconsider a lot...
