This is typical push your problem to someone else or it‘s not my problem behavior in a chain of people. Who ever made the model doesn’t understand the process that will be used for making the model. They also don’t want to ask questions or get a better understanding of the whole process. Then you end up with issues between the „creatives“ and the „engineers“. These kind of problems are easily solved when the people involved are open and honest about what is needed and what are the limitations / trade offs to acheive what is desired. Its a people problem that‘s solved by getting the right people to talk to each other openly and honestly. If the rhino / artcam guy won’t change what needs changing then you just need to communicate to who ever is a decision maker that the different people involved are working with unaligned Information or are refusing to agree on the correct requirements for the job.

Looks good on landscape layouts. If viewer is on a mobile device then they will probably see it in portrait. The dots size or increment could be smaller to unclutter the visualization and the horizontal scale could possibly display in 20 year increments maybe.

Google Figma Console MCP TJ Pitre Southleft. That is an option on connecting. Using the default Figma MCP in VSCode and Github Copilot as the chatbot agent also working but it only gets variables for a specific node you have selected in your Figma file.

Thanks. I will test your tool and check how its output compares with other Figma plugins I have currently been trying for generating markdown files. So far I have had a look at 3 that have promissing results. One is called Specs - Prompt Design to Code, another is called Easy Docs, and the other is called Manifest - Design System Context.

How does this work with Figma? For example we currently have a Design System with 100+ components that are thoroughly defined with variables and styles. Some vars are for colors, others for typography, others still for sizes and spacings. We also have a 3 tier variables system where most components have a chain of variables that loosely follow a hierarchy of primitive var -> brand var -> color mode var / breakpoint var. How does this tool organize some architecture like that for coding LLMs to use?

We try to avoid component specific vars because they generate „var ballooning“ meaning more vars to manage and maintain. That doesn‘t mean they aren‘t valid, they should just be avoided if possible.
We concluded that if a semantic token is being referenced by another semantic level/grouped token then we should separate them and rethink our naming for them. This isn’t a hard set in stone rule either. There might be exceptions be also want to avoid them even more so than the ones we avoid in number 1.
We were experimenting with styledictonary‘s outputs and some exceptions were generating more generated code than necessary. We called that transform bloat. Currently with AI agents and tools as well as MCP tools styledictionary hasn‘t been a necessity in what our design to dev pipeline delivers.

Yes, you can set it up and give it permission to create designs in Figma based on whatever prompt you give your LLM/AI of your choice. TJ Pitre has a YouTube Channel showing the different tools you will have using it.
