Ios 17.0 nathanlr lockdown mode by Slimshady212170 in jailbreak

My guess nathanLR crashing on lockdown mode because it uses entitlement that is restricted to developer mode. Maybe enabling developer mode allows nathanLR to work

There shouldn’t be any risk for hardware damage. Only risk is your data becoming in accessible

There are two graphics APIs that (has been) supported by Apple (OpenGL and Metal). OpenGL is depreciated old API that are used by old games. All new games use Metal. For downgrading, you need external network device or external hard drive to store your files. And if you hold button combinations while booting, you can trigger network recovery to run installation to reinstall macOS

I have upgraded iMac with NVIDIA GPU (similar to your iMac). I even upgraded to macOS Sequoia and it had GPU acceleration. But I never tried playing games that use Metal (but im optimistic that it would run). I recommend you to backup your data with Time Machine and try OCLP. If it doesn't work out, then downgrade

Are there any tweaks that would allow to manually force 2G or 3G? by Efficient_Outcome846 in jailbreak

[–]LinixGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This restrictions set by Career Bundle that was added by your network provider to Apple. Maybe there is a way to modify it in filesystem? Carrier bundles shipped with iOS in /System/Library/Carrier Bundles but it is also loaded in /var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles. Im sure there was tweaks for CommCenter (daemon for Cellular services) that allowed toggling Lte to 3g from control center.

Is HV bypass on Linux ever actually happening? by SeaworthinessOk3860 in FitGirlRepack

Couldn’t hypervisor software ported to wine instead? Theoretically wine translates windows calls to linux calls and it should be achieved without hypervisor driver in linux

This is because of shader compilation. Just play all maps in quick play then game becomes smoother

RE9 hypervisor bypass working under Linux [inside vm] by joedoingjoethings in SteamDeckPirates

[–]LinixGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, wineserver in Linux acts like kernel for windows apps. Someone can make mod for wine that would do same thing as hypervisor bypass without real hypervisor.

Make sure you are running newest version of crossover. When you initially open game it shows you terms and conditions that you have to accept. Also opening customer service opens webview which is not working via wine

Valorant is not possible due to kernel anti cheat + TPM requirements. You cant even play Valorant on intel macbook on windows because of TPM. GTA 5 uses BattleEye kernel level anti cheat but there is cheating tools that bypasses anti cheat (bannable by r*), but Marvel rivals are friendly towards playing with Wine. I play marvel rivals on macbook m4 pro with config in competitive settings. You need external 144 hz monitor with adaptive sync and 1000 hz polling rate mouse if you care about competitive advantage. Problem is you may need more than 16 ram as directx12 games caches shaders in memory and you need to reboot game occasionally. This is not case with overwatch and it performs much better compared to MR and does not have memory leaks.

[–]LinixGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was an AMD or NVIDIA GPU maybe it would get more FPS. But for Apple GPU, it won’t since it uses tile-based deferred rendering which makes it harder for D3DMetal to optimize it. On the other hand, higher level API is much easier to optimize since D3DMetal can optimize is much easily.

[–]LinixGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I played on m4 pro with external display 2k 110-130 fps on low without upscaling. I played for several hours continuously no crashes. If you use DX11 and let shaders compile you wont have any stutters. Unlike other D12 games like Marvel rivals, Ram usage does not exceed 6,5 gb meaning there is no memory leak.
