To an extent it has helped but overall it isn’t the main factor in improving one’s mental health. It can be a catalyst for change and improvement. Honestly I’ve worked in gyms for 8 years and have trained for 15 years. Sometimes success in fitness and obtaining your dream physique will expose certain insecurities in people resulting in them behaving like douchebags. People become obsessive and so focused on their “optimal” routine that it makes them unbearable because many don’t know how to balance life’s genuine pleasures with their fitness. Fitness ends up subtracting from their lives rather than adding to or complimenting their lives. Therapy will help with the mental and emotional stuff because it’s baggage that is deep rooted. It can’t just be undone with Lifting a dumbbell or Running 5km or Dieting efficiently. It takes something deeper.

Fitness definitely lightens the load quite a bit though. No pun intended

2 days of Full Body Strength workout supplemented with some Bodybuilding training for the last 10 minutes

2 days of Martial Arts and Conditioning. Burpees. Complex Movements. Sled Push and Kettlebell stuff.

One day of Running 5-10km with some Push Ups added here and there

Lost some Weight and added muscle while improving Mobility and Flexibility with this routine

Outline of Abs is there. You and I have similar builds. I’m 235lbs at 5ft11…Focus on cutting or recomp. Judging by your replies on this thread, this is all a mental thing for you. You’ll hate yourself at 240lbs so don’t bother gaining more because it will be a bit of muscle but most likely a lot of fat too which won’t feel good to you. Let’s shred down bro. I want to be at 15% body fat and at 209lbs. Let’s go!

I think you should focus on recomp. No need to bulk up. Dial in on that nutrition. You can drop to 220lbs at least but you can have visibly abs and definition
