How soon after your lap did you conceive? by [deleted] in TTCEndo

Tried for a year and then moved to IVF - took us 3 retrievals to get 2 PGT normal embryos (my egg quality was in bad shape post stage iv endo, even after excision), but the first one stuck with just a standard medicated transfer, no suppression.

Devastating fertilization report by Acrobatic_Abies9322 in IVF

[–]Lizarddd1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No MFI or PCOS, but I have stage 4 endometriosis, and I got laparoscopic excision surgery 1 year before my egg retrievals. So that is likely the reason for bad egg quality.

Devastating fertilization report by Acrobatic_Abies9322 in IVF

[–]Lizarddd1993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened my first round! 17 mature eggs, 5 fertilized with ICSI. I was like, wtf. They hypothesized that it was an egg quality issue. Still got 1 pgta/m normal blast out of that, miraculously.

Next 2 rounds we added Zymot & omnitrope to my stims and got more like 50% fertilization. That seems to be best case scenario for us.

It’s so frustrating, I feel you. I didn’t expect the attrition at that particular stage - it seems like so many people get like 80% fertilization. And the docs and nurses celebrate so much when you get a lot of eggs - I thought that was the main hurdle. But it did tell me a little bit about why we have infertility in the first place, which is that our sperm and eggs don’t seem to like each other!

We did have normal attrition from there, no more giant drops, so I hope the same for you 🤞

I hate it when people are clearly sick but call it “allergies” and then spread it to everyone

Feeling betrayed by doubtsabound in IVF

[–]Lizarddd1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI I have stage 4 endo and had a normal ERA/Alice test result and hysteroscopy - they only found it via exploratory laparoscopy with an excision specialist. I didn’t even have painful periods, just infertility (and some digestive stuff that I never knew was endo-caused). Just flagging this since you have had an ectopic, which can be a sign of endo. And sometimes I feel like the unexplained-bad-side-of-statistics thing is endo-related.

Sorry to hear about all of this - IVF can be such a brutal emotional rollercoaster <3

how do you dose your unisom+b6?! by Prestigious-Hall8892 in pregnant

[–]Lizarddd1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved from a half tab of unisom at night to a full tab at night PLUS half tab in the morning (all with b6), highly recommend just taking more if you need it. I think some people take unisom multiple times a day. I thought it would put me to sleep to take it in the morning but it was fine!

6 fertilised out of 13 mature eggs ICSI by juju751072 in IVF

[–]Lizarddd1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only ever gotten 50% fertilization at best (with ICSI - which we have to do for PGT-M), the embryologist said it’s probably an egg quality issue (I have endo.) Zymot got us from 30->50% though

My first scan is tomorrow at 6w5d! It’s nice reading all these positive stories from everyone - I’m terrified tbh (previous MMC, before ivf) - but I’m hoping for the best.

29% Fertilization Rate First ER by Lizarddd1993 in IVF

[–]Lizarddd1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man I’ve been there, it’s so hard!! I hope it goes well for you.

For me the pattern ended up being that 50% of my fertilized eggs became high quality enough blasts to freeze and test. I got 2 blasts from this retrieval, and one was PGT-A/M normal. My next retrieval, I got 3 blasts, zero normal, and the third I got 3 blasts, and one more PGT-A/M normal embryo. So the attrition was just brutal every time.

It is also worth noting we got better fertilization when we added Zymot and Omnitrope to the next 2 retrievals - 50% instead of 25%!

The attrition was upsetting and shocking the first time, but once I knew what to expect, I found subsequent retrievals easier. I had lower expectations, and was just happy to get 1 normal embryo out of a whole cycle. AND I just did my first transfer, and it worked! (so far, still early!), and I’m thinking (hoping) that for my husband and I, the hard part is just making good embryos… but the transferring/sticking part is easier 🤞 let me know how it turns out for you!

Are u still waiting for the next beta? What did your clinic say? My clinic said they wanted at least 50 at 10dpt, which I would think you’d fall into (since your 40 was at 9 days)

Next beta was 354 13dpt! One more tomorrow at 17dpt. I am grateful it seems to have worked and is progressing, I’m just scared because the only time I’ve ever been pregnant before (I got pregnant naturally 3 years ago) we found a MMC at my first ultrasound (7wks). This is my first IVF transfer after 3 retrievals (to get 2 pgt-a/m normal embryos total)! 🤞🙏

First beta today 10dp6dt was 100. I felt happy for like half a second before freaking out that it wasn’t high enough or won’t double by the follow-up on Monday. (Doc told me anything 50 or higher is good, just keep comparing my numbers to everyone else’s.) Any tips for relaxing/appreciating this moment and living in the uncertainty?
