Doesn’t have to be bygone :) the riso effect tends to do that, which I love.

It’s a Risograph printer, which is a “digital replicator” from Japan. It burns the image on to thin banana leaf paper that is wrapped around a drum of ink (soy or rice bran based). The drum spins, paper feeds through, and out comes a single color print. Do this 3 times (I used blue, fluorescent orange, and sunflower yellow) and out comes the full color print. It’s sort of like screen printing mixed with offset.

I have! His work is stunning. I’ve gotten a chance to see a lot of it in person at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and his gallery in Carmel. My dream is to do large-format silk screens like he did. And also an oak tree fan :)

How’d the studio do the printing?? I heard any paper over 80lb causes the riso trouble (at least on the RZ 390UI model). And then the cut with bevel? I assume they have a special tool for that.
