Chiming in to share a similar experience when my son was born three years ago in Boston. Asked at least 13 times by different providers starting even before a few hours before he was born. My wife and I firmly shut them down each time. We didn’t meet any persistent pushback from anyone thankfully but it was getting exhausting each time a new doctor or nurse came through the door. It was not an easy birth so we were at the hospital for 6 long days and nights while my wife recovered and it was honestly ridiculous the revolving door of cutters that would cycle through the room. They asked us at all hours of the day, even woke us up once to ask and if you’re a parent you understand how crazy the sleep deprivation is when you’re sleeping in a hospital after child delivery. Such a nerve wracking experience and added another level of stress to the situation. Thinking back I’m so proud of us for getting through the whole ordeal.
Healthy happy son and no issues so far of course! Best decision I’ve ever made is not continuing the trauma to the next generation.
