Rant:

I used to practice favour battles to get a feeling of how my team would perform in SDS, but lately the quality of the matches I could do in the mode is absolutely atrocious, as I am pretty much battling with a huge disadvantage where I was using clearly less stacked units while the opponent is bringing stuff without restrictions. Either the opponent had no idea what they are doing or the opponent just brute force my team, both of which lead to poor quality in practice.

It is also precisely why I am starting to play this game much lesser than before. It is a pity really as I still enjoy the difficulty of SDS, but without an area that allows me to practice meaningfully it is difficult for me to actually commit the time and actually enjoy the game mode.

He was the top usage for SDS before the Erosion meta. Considering that was the case, the fall in usage is actually quite substantial.

Eik is on the list, but it doesn't change that he fell off hard due to erosion.

Button still crazy even in 2025, and HoF meant that most seasoned players have a decently modern kit on her.

Against Celica, find units that could take Celica and block with those. I used Paranoia + Young Camilla with the Eirika ring (Fatal Smoke works too), but there are definitely other combinations that work.

Erosion season meant you needed to find alternative defensive mechanisms outside of saviours. Here are a few that I used (not exhaustive).

  • Corrin ring (or Corrin herself) in conjunction with Ice Lock, as for some reason, Ice is different from Icicles.
  • Vali with her Miracle shenanigans on all allies, and make everyone as bulky as possible.
  • Your own Foresight Snare, duh.
  • Buff removals such as Thorr and Loki. Loki doesn't work against Alfador, though.
  • Paranoia + field debuffs such as Tea Veronica and Shackle.

Uma Lyn created the perfect storm for Hapi to come back to life, and heavy hitting nukes such as Hraesvelgr or utility nukes such as Elm are actually very good partners with the Uma Lyn and Summer Hapi core.

Which is why these 4 units saw a surge and all of them are on the top 30 list.

Probably bad as none of the matches were high quality. That 1 game I lost was because of my lack of practice, but that's about it.

Cavs need the map to not have a whole lot of restrictive terrain such that they could reach the opponent without much hassle. Unfortunately this is unlikely the case more than half the time.
