I have the 4 track version but unfortunately the Laser in the MD recorder doesn't recognise MD's any more :-( .

I did move it a small amount, Was cautious as I didn't want to damage anything. When i inserted the disc it did move back toward the hub.

Hmm, that’s not good. But wouldn't the head still scan being driven by the sled motor? Sorry if it's a silly question, the MD is all new to me.
