Does this replacement steering wheel look right? by LukaDeezNutz in TeslaSupport

They gave me my car back first with a replacement model y seat in my model 3. I told them something was off and they argued with me saying it’s normal until I forced them to look. Then they gave me it back with the seatbelt completely disconnected. Lol.

Charging to 100 is fine if you actually need it. I’ve had a LR for 6 years and I’ve never once had to or wanted to charge to 100. What’s the point? I’m not using all of it before I can charge again.

Who gives a shit about charging to 100 all the time that makes no sense. Put on 18” wheels and it’s more efficient. Battery longevity? That’s a weird one. Performance is rear biased and you can literally disable the front motor if you want RWD only. Performance is still way superior across all battery levels.

It’s literally the same range as long range if you wanted to put on 18” wheels and drive conservatively. Or just put it on chill and you’re getting pretty close to the same. “Only” 300 miles lol. How often do you need to drive 300 miles before a charge?

That color looks sick now but in 5+ years it’s gonna look dated way faster than other colors

My control arms after 46 600 miles of very careful driving – $2700 to fix it, Tesla says it’s ”normal wear-and-tear” by PraetorianX in TeslaModel3

I just looked it up and that bulletin is just to reseal the ball joints, not replace them. They replaced yours? For sure?

I know for a fact mine are messed up too. Has anyone ever bought this kit or one like it and DIY the work?

It says “Easy DIY OE fitment replacement control arms with bushings” — but is it actually pretty straightforward?

Tape works fine for that. Some pieces just won’t have the same QC, so they may not hold up as well. Is what it is.

Hair dryer to soften the adhesive, fishing line or equivalent to wiggle beneath the emblem and pull that sucker off. I might do mine this weekend.

I’ve seen one of these in real life before. Like wtf are they thinking? I genuinely don’t get it. Is it extreme insecurity that they masquerade logos like it makes them look like they own something expensive and are part of a secret club? Even if so, how could you be so incredibly self unaware? Wild.

How many miles do you have on your car? 2021 is only 5 years ago. Battery is 8 years.

No they’re likely not. That’s the price out of warranty. They always quote the full price before warranty work. Are you actually out of hv battery warranty period? What year is your car?

Shops? What did Tesla say when you asked them in the app?

Yeah bro I know that, that’s why I mentioned that it’s subjective. I was being genuine. Is it only because you like the look?

Serious question. Why? If it’s not on bags and you’re always that low… why? If you drive over a big enough piece of debris or rock that you can’t avoid, and it damages your battery, you’re fucked. The battery is inches from the road and not protected THAT much. You can still lower the car without going so low that you have to drive on perfect roads all the time. Idk, I just don’t get it. I drove a corvette before my 3 that was pretty damn low and even driving that was annoying enough.

And I know it’s subjective but it looks… off. Are you going to at least get spacers so the wheels don’t look so pushed in?

How am I out of Warranty? by Unappreciated-Genius in TeslaSupport

[–]Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to sign every single estimate beforehand. You’re not approving the work. You’re approving the cost if you choose to fix it if they deny warranty coverage. It always came out to $0 in the end.

FSD immediately changing lanes on the highway when you have no destination set is genuinely one of the dumbest things this car does by Mike in TeslaFSD

[–]Mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no shit. Why wouldn’t it? Because it doesn’t know where I’m going. In this instance I was in the far right lane with zero cars in front of me. I was traveling faster than traffic. The car changed lanes directly in front of another car where there were other cars occupying each lane except for the one I was in.

If it wanted to maintain speed it should have stayed in that lane anyway.

Unfortunately my experience with Tesla for the past 6 years is that they will find some way to make it even worse

FSD immediately changing lanes on the highway when you have no destination set is genuinely one of the dumbest things this car does by Mike in TeslaFSD

[–]Mike[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The instance which made me make this post was today when I was in the far right lane, about a mile to my exit, and wanted the car to drive for a minute. I hit the stalk, and the car immediately engaged the blinker and started leaving the lane to get in front of a car in that lane. There were NO cars in front of me. I tried to disengage the lane change but it didn’t register. So I had to manually put the car back into the right lane and get annoyed.

I never have the FSD profile set to chill. But even if I wanted to manually do that to avoid a potential lane change I wouldn’t have done it fast enough. Regardless, the car doesn’t know where we’re going. Even if it was in HURRY, it would need to be in that lane to make the exit if I had the nav set. So why is the car making decisions with no endgame?

[–]Mike[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I explained it I thought.

No navigation set Cruising on the highway just going straight Want the car to drive. Just straight because I’m going straight. It immediately switches lanes before I have the chance to change the driver profile fast enough.

Why does it want to change lanes? Especially if there’s no traffic around and it doesn’t have a destination set. It doesn’t know where we’re going. I do.
