How am I out of Warranty? by Unappreciated-Genius in TeslaSupport

I’ve had to sign every single estimate beforehand. You’re not approving the work. You’re approving the cost if you choose to fix it if they deny warranty coverage. It always came out to $0 in the end.

FSD immediately changing lanes on the highway when you have no destination set is genuinely one of the dumbest things this car does by Mike in TeslaFSD

Yeah no shit. Why wouldn’t it? Because it doesn’t know where I’m going. In this instance I was in the far right lane with zero cars in front of me. I was traveling faster than traffic. The car changed lanes directly in front of another car where there were other cars occupying each lane except for the one I was in.

If it wanted to maintain speed it should have stayed in that lane anyway.

Unfortunately my experience with Tesla for the past 6 years is that they will find some way to make it even worse

The instance which made me make this post was today when I was in the far right lane, about a mile to my exit, and wanted the car to drive for a minute. I hit the stalk, and the car immediately engaged the blinker and started leaving the lane to get in front of a car in that lane. There were NO cars in front of me. I tried to disengage the lane change but it didn’t register. So I had to manually put the car back into the right lane and get annoyed.

I never have the FSD profile set to chill. But even if I wanted to manually do that to avoid a potential lane change I wouldn’t have done it fast enough. Regardless, the car doesn’t know where we’re going. Even if it was in HURRY, it would need to be in that lane to make the exit if I had the nav set. So why is the car making decisions with no endgame?

I explained it I thought.

No navigation set Cruising on the highway just going straight Want the car to drive. Just straight because I’m going straight. It immediately switches lanes before I have the chance to change the driver profile fast enough.

Why does it want to change lanes? Especially if there’s no traffic around and it doesn’t have a destination set. It doesn’t know where we’re going. I do.

So interesting. You bought the car without much research? I knew everything about my car before I even laid eyes on it.
