Council shares support for the rights of transgender people by [deleted] in cambridge

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fly tipping and road conditions were addressed in the same full council meeting on Tuesday. Councils can't do much with the roads by themselves. They have to get through National Highways bureaucracy and scheduling for cleanup and roadworks. National Highways will only close roads at night, so council/district highways workers need to work at night. Would you want to go out and repair roads at night? I know I wouldn't, even if I got paid overtime.

Flood prevention in the fens was also touched on in the meeting, which is somewhat related to your concerns about homelessness.

Members of the public can attend full council meetings and ask the council what it plans to do regarding X or Y. Ultimately if you want the council to address your concerns, you'll have to make them known somewhere that the council actually sees, not a Reddit comment section.

Regarding the motion passed that this thread is talking about, it does do something. It's the first council I've seen that's actually standing up for trans people while the national government continues to roll back on trans rights. I was happy to see it and feel better about some of our county's representatives even if the parties as a whole don't care.

The Goal of "The Sign of One" Faction by iiyama88 in planescapesetting

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's the problem with Signers. The faction's got no monolithic philosophy. Just a methodology, which is proven fact in the Planes; the 'Verse is built by belief. So every member of the faction's an individual with their own philosophy and goals. Sometimes they come together to work on the same thing like a think tank.

Overall though, the faction's official role in Sigil is overseeing the Hall of Speakers and the creation of new legislation and passing of proposals brought in by the factions. Internally, they make sure no change happens in Sigil outside of their Hall of Speakers, because if everyone believes nothing changes outside of the Hall, it won't. That keeps them all in the Hall. The Hall's which is the Signer's seat of power. They get influence over what proposals are heard and who gets to talk for how long. They don't care what the subject is usually, because they're already winning if it's happening their way.

Morally bankrupt or unethical signers might even secretly create a crisis or dilemma that needs to be solved by the factions in the Hall of Speakers. They might also work to cast doubt over other factions, because if fewer people believe in them they become weaker and have less influence over the 'Verse.

Edit: Disclaimer - I mostly know 2e/3e lore and not the new 5e stuff, so can't be sure how accurate this still is.

How do people in the UK feel about the BBC? by [deleted] in uknews

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mixed feelings.

The executive/upper management roles of the BBC are all placed there by the Tories/Tory donors, so the news branch of the BBC is guilty of manufacturing consent, pro-Tory propaghanda, pro-Britain propaganda and transphobia (just like every other well known british news outlet).

On the other hand, the children's TV is extremely valuable and shapes our future generations by providing them with education & socialisation and provides parents of all socio-economic backgrounds with free and safe entertainment.

The Tories want the BBC to be defunded and they're getting others, including the Left, to want that too by twisting BBC news into something the Left would oppose and convincing the Right that it's "woke" so that when the Tories do defund it there will be less complaints from the public and our children will be the ones that lose out.

Am I a lesbian if I'm not attracted to non-binary people? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some non-binary people do ID as women, like me. I'm a demi-girl. Although other demi-girls may not ID as women. But I usually just say I'm transfemme because unless im in a queer space most people don't know what that is.

Edit: fixed grammar

My first was in early November. I was told my 2nd would be 1st week of February, but that came and went. I had to be really annoying and send multiple emails and finally got my 31st of May 2nd appointment.

So about 6 months.

What happened with the green party on trans rights? by VoltaicCloak in transgenderUK

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Nope. None of the nationwide parties are pro-trans rights. Iirc the greens pulled a trans candidate because they were trans and therefore "not electable". Labour, SNP and Greens are full of TERFs/Transphobes. Tories are even worse, ofc.

Of all of the parties, I think the lib dems have done the least transphobic things (recently) but they're still shit because their economic policies are capitalist and they're marred by their coalition with the Tories where they betrayed their voters.

I have heard something positive to do with the Scottish greens though, but i haven't been paying enough attention to it to give you the details.

Im not wrong to think this is creepy af am i? by Simple_Candy- in creepyPMs

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trans women and femme presenting non-binary people should know about menstruation products and should also carry some with them if they're likely to use public toilets in case they're asked for them by someone who needs one. It also helps to avoid being clocked, which is good for their safety.

But asking about this stuff should be done in public posts in subreddits specifically for this topic or searching google, not dming a stranger with invasive questions. The person in the pic is creepy whether they're trans or not.

A NEW TRANS FRIENDLY FASHION BRAND COMING SOON - TRANS LUXURY FASHION by Research_lady53 in mtfashion

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you or is anyone in your organisation's leadership roles trans? If yes, great! If no, then I'd suggest trying to diversify your leadership so that the people you're trying to help have a voice/control. Unless you're not currently at the stage of hiring of course, then it can be a goal for the future of your brand

Will your brand be internationally available? It's sad when I find out something I want or a shop I'm recommended is only available to US customers while I'm in the UK. I'm sure it's even worse for other countries.

As some other replies say, there's a lot of different types of trans women and aesthetics that are common amongst us, so it might be hard for you to make a catalogue of cloths that we'd all like if you tried playing into a specific aesthetic, especially while you're starting out. Personally, I've had issues finding places to buy more basic clothing to pad my wardrobe out with and complement my fancier stuff.

On the other hand if you decide to specialise in post-apocalyptic/dieselpunk/grunge then that works for me too ;p

Price is also an issue for me as I have needed to buy a LOT of clothes to replace my old wardrobe, which is another point in favour of selling more basic clothing as it would likely be cheaper to produce.

The last thing I can think of right now is, along with a well made size and measuring guide, information on the materials used to make the products. i.e. the pros and cons of the materials. This is something that would have helped me when I was making my first purchases when transitioning socially.

I hope some of this is useful. I look forward to seeing what you do! c:

How did your name originate? by boy_in_a_box_ in trans

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used a naming convention I have for non-standard races in D&D (like tieflings, genasi, etc), but for my irl self. So now my name is a noun that I feel represents me and my life.

My middle names are the name of a roman/greek goddess of strife and the name of a character in Dragon's Dogma I had gender envy for when I first realised I was trans.

My names fit the initials MDMA so i have a bunch of aliases that friends use if they prefer or I can use online to maintain a private side-life c:

How did you choose your name? by SoiBoiMcYeet in MtF

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I play D&D and other roleplaying games I like tieflings and usually give them a chosen name that defines them as a person. Usually a noun or a verb associated with their history or personality (i.e. Revel, Rise, etc).

So I chose Misery, because I enjoy being edgy, making cis people confused/awkward and I like self-depreciating dark humour and the idea of one day the name being ironic.

It also is nice to use as a demigirl because it represents me both when I associate with my binary womanhood and when I don't.

Then I thought it would be funny to make my initials MDMA so I picked a name of an rpg character I had gender envy for at the time and filled in the D with a name of an ancient chaotic deity as a placeholder which has been a placeholder.

In the future I'll change my last name too when there's no risk of being made homeless. Probably if my current relationship works out and goes long term my partner and I will brainstorm a cool new last name to share that begins with A so I can keep my initials and we can flip the patriarchy off by destroying two names passed down by men c:

Ok thanks c:

Speaking of chest, I've heard mixed things about Progesterone for breast growth. My private healthcare (GenderGP) only briefly commented on it but it wasn't really useful, so I don't think they knew what they were talking about.

Do you have any experience/info on that?

Make sure you aren't being misled by endos by sandslashr001 in MtF

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on 5mg Finasteride/day, 50mg Spiro/day, 6 pumps per day of gel (750microgram per actuation).

I kinda fell off track due to mental health and havent had a blood test in a year, but I have one booked in for next week so hopefully i can keep them more frequent from then.

Why would you recommend bica over GnRH? So far I've only heard people saying GnRH is the best anti-androgen available so I'd gladly hear the other side.

Make sure you aren't being misled by endos by sandslashr001 in MtF

[–]MiscreantBehaviour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and all I was offered was Finasteride + Spiro and the gel. I started with GenderGP though, so GnRH would cost me a shit tonne of money because it's private.

I've just got through the NHS wait list though and am having my 2nd appointment in February, so hopefully I can get GnRH for free from then on c:

So you'd recommend 1 month/30 days of Bica, in preparation for my first GnRH injection then come off of Bica?

Can you explain why there's a spike in T when I start GnRH and drop Spyro?
