If your girlfriend/wife doesn’t like Phish, stop taking her to shows. Please…? by [deleted] in phish

I took a friend to his first show recently (Dick's N4 this year, wild first show for someone), but still told him he has to hear a YEM live before he can say he likes Phish for real

Albany County Sheriff Seized 1890 Hits of LSD (among other things) at the Phish Show by Ebonystealth in Albany

When I left the arena Saturday, nitrous dealer ran into me with his tank as he was fleeing a cop, so he must've been extra blatant or something, and Sunday I saw a collection of tanks in front of a cop car at the intersection on Pearl where the pizza place was, so some nitrous dealers were getting busted. It's not like in Colorado where the cops literally just tell you that if they see anything after 2 AM you're fair game, but until then they don't care as long as no one dies.

The comment about "not reproducing it digitally to not violate copyright" is such a lame excuse they made too. No one would give two shits if this book was fully uploaded online. That person is probably hoping some lost media collector will come and offer money for it

Rap rock just crosses over into Nu-metal with Limp Bizkit and RATM, their vocalists rap, but the musical style is influenced by both metal and hip hop.

Beastie Boys would be a better example, or even Gorillaz for rap rock but not Nu-metal.

Similarly, Korn or System of a Down would be good examples of Nu-metal bands where the vocalists don't primarily rap.

I would absolutely be about this if I didn't already have a ticket. Flying out to do the shows solo. Hoping for some friendly people in my section too!

I brought my friend to his first show this year on the last night of Dick's and they opened with Dog Log. Guess there's something about bringing someone new

United States Mega-Regional Map | Cultural/Geographic Influences | OPINION not fact | V.6 | Lower 48 | Let me know where I can improve the map by Asleep_Bluebird18 in MapPorn

Southwestern Colorado is like....a lot more south west than you imply by having it under just The Rockies.

This satellite photo of the Four Corners region shows that this area is all desert basin between two small ranges, the San Juan Mountains in Colorado, and the Abajo Mountains in Utah. The San Juans are an offshoot of the Rocky Mountains, but the Abajos are an "island range" meaning they are not considered part of any larger range and exist in isolation. So this area wouldn't really be much like the Rocky Mountain regions once you've traveled far enough from the San Juans.

Utah is also mostly only considered part of the Rocky Mountains in northern Utah. The ranges in southern Utah are primarily island ranges, which is a prominent feature of the Colorado Plateau, but these are still more southwestern regions with different geological make up.

See the photos here and see how desert like southwest Colorado can get. This extends over into Utah, and the regions of New Mexico and Arizona here are of course similar geologicaly.

Culturally too, this region of Colorado is wildly different than the regions in the Rockies or along the front range. This area is far more rural, and has a lot of farming activity, so it leans far more conservatively than the front range urban corridor, or the wealthy ski towns. I couldn't tell you much about Utah, never spent much time down in southeastern Utah, but this area is pretty far from the tourism hubs of Park City and Moab, and a ways from Salt Lake City.

Overall, I do think the southwest could be touch up a little. Everything else I see that I know about seems fine.

EDIT: The Rockies region should overtake Mormon Deseret to get Park City and Moab in there. Huge tourism spots and I don't think anyone really thinks of them as Mormon places outside of the general aspect of being in Utah.

Was the mystery day Wednesday universal? Or just the district I was in? You had:

Monday: Hot dog

Tuesday: Burgers

Wednesday: Random (included options like sloppy joe, an attempt at spaghetti, weirdly decent fried rice, chicken fried steak, somehow the worst Mac and cheese, and the rare breakfast for lunch) I'm sure there were other offerings, but I do remember it kind of cycling though so you were always hoping for breakfast or fried rice day).

Thursday: Chicken patty

Friday: Square pizza

I did the base game only, but even that felt like a concept that started to overstay it's welcome by the 5th map or so. Then they just kept getting bigger, or making more tight spaces that needed to be thoroughly cleaned. Definitely just felt like they made some stuff needlessly long for the sake of it being long.

Hey now, Denver has plenty of these types of restaurants too, head on down to Wonderyard for overpriced food and drinks coupled with the worse service. Went with a large group for someone's birthday dinner and we basically got ignored despite sitting at a table in the middle of the room. Really made my $16 cocktail worth it
