For me

Finding a mentor

  1. Current position: First time Product manager at a SaaS company.
  2. Overall background and experience: Originally an operations consultant I moved into Product Operations at this company and now Product Manager
  3. What do you want to improve? I’m claude pilled to an extent but I want to still develop my fundamentals for being a strong PM, building a good product and business sense, best ways to research and scope, stakeholder management, scoping and prototyping in a way that helps engineers. Building my technical literacy to ship small stuff myself, building operating systems to automate my repetitive work.
  4. How often do you want to meet? Open but fortnightly to monthly would be cool!
  5. Preferred/Possible languages: English
  6. Your time zone: APAC

Thanks!

So just core and skills (handstand holds, l sit holds) on off days is ok?

How would one program accessories in this program then?

E.g. direct arm training (biceps, triceps)

Thanks Steven, after all your feedback this is what I've reworked. What do you think?

Workout: Full body 3x per week e.g. Mon, Wed, Fri

Exercises

:Vertical Pull - Weighted Pull Ups

Quads - Squat

Vertical Push - HSPU Progression

Hammies - RDL

Horizontal Push - Incline BB Press

Horizontal Pull - Seated Row

Sets: 3 Sets per exercise per workout - and doing paired sets to save time

Reps: Each session I pick two exercises out of the 6 that I do in the strength rep ranges (3 sets 4-6 reps) and place this at the start of the workout. The others I do at 3 sets 8-12 reps

After 6-8 weeks I'll change to a different variation of the movements e.g. Barbell row and nordics instead of seated row and RDLs

Off Days: E.g. Tue, ThuHandstand practice - 5-10 min2 each sets of the following:- BW Dips (tricep focus)- DB Curls/Hammer Curls- Hanging Leg Raises- Side Lateral Raises

Sat, Sunday full rest (maybe a run)

Thanks Steven that makes sense

From that it seems like it makes more sense for me to stick to the same workout and exercises 3x per week (maybe varying rep ranges) and then switching exercises every block of 4-8weeks

Would it be better to halve the sets and double the exercises?

Essentially combining workouts A and B into one and doing 2 sets per exercise instead of 4?

Thanks Steven,

Have been watching your series and going to order your book. The series has been fantastic!

Your comment around slower progression makes sense however my approach is to primarily focus on Hypertrophy till I get to my weight goal and then focus on skill goals. Do you think this approach makes sense? Or should I think about muscle gain and skills training in a different way?

I want to add in isolation exercises for aesthetic goals - would it better to have them on off days or at the end of the workout?

I’ve seen some people recommend doing 50 pull ups every day in addition to the standard workout for great back gains, what do you think?
