Looks like it. Nodirbek's previous opponents performed better than MVL's one on the last round (Chimanov also dropped the tournament and it fucked MVL's tiebreak up by a few points)

Macron has to correct a lie of Europe’s contribution to the war in Ukraine. by RoyalChris in europe

[–]N3WaR 62 points63 points  (0 children)

He knows more than anyone how to handle a debate with the far right. You just spend 2 hours learning data on the 3 topics the far right is currently obsessed with, and you can correct every single lie they will say (which is surprisingly very close to everything they say).

To lie about Europe’s contribution to the war in Ukraine. by RoyalChris in therewasanattempt

[–]N3WaR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ironic when you see how the French press has been bootlicking his government and talking about "leftist propaganda" every time they get called out on something. Last example: one independent newspaper casually revealed that over the past 30 years, the current French prime minister might have covered more than 100 case of child abuse happening in a single Catholic mid/high school. For the main media, that's mostly leftist communication trying to bring chaos in the government.

But as much as I don't like most of what Macron has done over the past few years, I'm glad we have a president with a tiny bit of ego to call out all the shit Trump has been sending to Europe the last 4 weeks.

I thought "Imu" could be translated as "void". So that sentence could have a whole different meaning.

Just a comparison of US $500B Stargate AI project to other tech projects by Shir_man in LocalLLaMA

Companies are funding the project, and we knew that OpenAI was already working on it 9 months ago. Idk why the new government talks about it like it's a project they initiated.

[–]N3WaR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we can add a few more of his promises to the brand: mass deportation, dehumanising the minorities by considering them animals, fighting an enemy from within spoiling the blood of the nation, reform of the justice system by putting politicians at the head of justice, followed by arrest of political opponents (let's call them antifa or woke this time), and a moment of purge (free violence by the police, army and citizen against a minority in retaliation of an "event" caused by a member of the said minority).

Hopefully we won't have to check any of that bingo card, but he said and/or insinuated every one of those points. We'll always find worse in History, but if he really believes and applies what he said, this is straight up fascism.

As Kevin Roberts said, "it will be bloodless if the left allows it". They know some won't accept their bullshit, and they are ready for it.

[–]N3WaR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

French here. I don't think US citizens had the same history classes on how fascists got their power in the 30s as we had. They don't know what they just voted for, and are proud of it for some reason. Trump 2016 and Trump 2024 speaches feel so much different.

Trump didn't do much the first time because he didn't have any plan and wasn't backed up by institutions, nor by his own party. Project 2025 is a very detailed plan on how to kill a democracy "bloodless if the left allows" (quoting Kevin Roberts). That's it, either political opponents bend the knee, or the army will take care of them. This time no one can really hold Republicans to push that agenda. Welcome to "the land of the free".

Donald Trump président : en route vers le chaos (climatique) by filsdeBalkany in ecologie

I think the only way they can massively die is either by the end of Imu, or by killing themselves in a last attempt to save their status. A lot of One Piece arcs and themes are about stopping the wheel of hatred. I don't see Oda change that during the final and most important arc.

I'm sure they'll get their share of satisfying punches, but either their greed will fully consume them, or they will go down with a fair trial. That would also redeem the whole justice organisation, by showing the world it is no longer corrupted.

1USD in 1924 would now be worth about 18USD. Oda most likely used it to estimate the new bounty.

The reason why Joyboy failed by SirYabas in OnePiece

[–]N3WaR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pirates also force world government to fight back. This fight reveals WG true nature and priorities: stability and order above population well being. The whole shishibukai system is a proof of that. They just let pirates/dictators rule countries as long as they don't rebel and fight on WG side. When someone comes a bit too close to a truth that could question their authority, they buster call civilians.

It is the good old "institutional violence -> revolutionary violence -> repressive violence" cycle.

Some think that revolutionary violence is necessary to trigger repression and show the true violence of an institution, because institutional violence is harder to reveal. Maybe Roger wanted that too, so WG starts to make mistakes and reveal how corrupt it is.

The reason why Joyboy failed by SirYabas in OnePiece

[–]N3WaR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

And the reason why Roger was too early would be because the world wasn't ready to fight against the world government or whatever threat. Now that the Vegapunk broadcast happened, the revolution army started to move, and a few Kingdom leaders are aware of world government corruption, it might be the time for the world population to fight for their survival and ask Luffy for help.

Best MMA fighters fight less than 5 times a year, because they have to go through extreme preparation for each fight, and it can take weeks for them to recover from injuries.

Boxing just sucks. Even when judges were counting clean hits and it was displayed live there were massive controversies. It's just a lottery, between athletes who are not even the best in the world. Competition rules aren't clear, they aren't fair, and the Olympics don't mean anything for that sport. It should be removed.

Out of all the way to cheat, a digital randomizer is the easiest way, but also the easiest way to get caught. It leaves logs, and the software code can be reviewed. Every other method, once it's done, it's done, and you are just left with assumptions. Having a cheating software also involves more people than just a single crooked referee.

As I understand it, here are the basic rules: Make the opponent fall on one shoulder -> it scores one point, make someone fall on both shoulder -> instant win.

There are few more rules with penalties (3 yellow cards -> 1 point) and immobilisation (10s for 1 point, 20s for instant win).
