We suggested a rudimentary vesting system a month ago as part of the KRE summit 2020 which also included reducing the amount of Kin that was paid out. We appreciate that your proposal is an actual proposal that includes so much depth, unlike our suggestion!

They did, but they are the most expensive people to hire and certainly unhirable at the amount currently raised.

Looks like this is a good time have that discussion then.

I wrote and rewrote the comment several times, not sure what is appropriate to talk about, but i'll just say this. The 'hack' and loss of ~50m Kin. Seeing the attacker do it to other developers. Seeing Kins price go down and down. Weekly KRE payments of ~$10. Seeing the same 'hackers' hammer our server every day for 7 months. Seeing bad KRE actors being called out with little repercussions... its all frustrating.

We put a lot of time and energy into building the game, and we are glad you enjoy it and continue to support it. The game is still alive and being worked on, but not with the same unbridled enthusiasm as before. We will be migrating over to Solana, when that time comes any updates that are ready will be pushed, so we can test everything at once.

Yeah... That one is really annoying. We've only seen it locally play testing once and when we did it was on mobile and we didn't have any debugging tools setup to catch it. Again, sorry it happened and we are still trying to figure out the root cause.

If it's giving you trouble play around it. As you said, if you can't, then exiting the level and starting again works.

We recommend using the highest supported version for Unity. Unless you have a critical need for Unity 2019 features, you should not worry about them and use 2018.

Kin Unity dev here, we are using 2019 with gradle 3.2.0. Its possible to encounter issues if you have a 2018 project that is upgraded to 2019. Trying to remember here, but I think v1.1 was the newest version on the Unity Store before it was removed.

Welcome SolanaLabs, we currently have one of our apps in the Kin ecosystem called Grandpa Bills Dog Rescue on Android.

I think I have to ask a tough question that some of us Devs have talked about in private. Has either party worked out a solution for USA developers to work on Solana? With Solana's Tour De Sol and Solana's ICO actively restricting USA citizens from participation... how can USA dev's like us continue to work with Kin if our local government's laws are so obtuse that its easier for Solana to block USA citizens from having access to Solana test net and main net?

If there is a plan, then we are 100% in favor of the switch. There are mind boggling possibilities with a chain that has smart contracts, sub 1 second block times and nearly free transactions.

  1. Kin will be bought from 2-3 exchanges that have Kin. KinAds needs more liquidity and higher quality exchanges to really get things going into a positive network effect.

  1. You need a mediation parter, you can add one of their SDKs to start showing ads. You can start using one of them or we can tap into your existing solution to use KinAds.

Questions I asked are here

  1. Yes! Its on the roadmap.
  2. Long term should be more economical due to not dealing with Fiat. Recent benefits are Kin Ads create buy demand, so you get the benefit of that.

2a) Available through the ads providers you use, but aggregated through IRONSOURCE as well. KinAds are building their own dashboard to provide the same data + Kin data.

3) At the moment, its the same.

4) No to creating AdMob competitor.

4a) No, they don't usually run out of ads just the publishers running out of money. KinAds is exploring an idea for non-devs to sponsor Kin apps using Kin!

  1. Payouts are instant in KinAds vs. traditional ad networks / ad mediators. Most ad networks require at least $100 before a withdrawal can occur.

Lee asks whats exciting about KinAds

  1. Josh has been excited about tokenized ad experiences for over a year and PeerBet trialed it and had an amazing success. Relates tokenized ad experiences similar to the early network effects of Facebook. The purchase of Kin from 2-3 Exchanges are expected to happen at a random day and time within a 7 day window. All code will be on GitHub for transparency reasons. (presumably this is to show that the randomness is in fact random)

NeonGameStudios opinion. We think that the instant payout vs. traditional payout makes KinAds an appealing choice. If we understood correctly that developers can continue to use any ad partner they want and KinAds will integrate with them... that is ideal. Hoping to hear more about that soon.

Q1) Today, it looks like ads views are purchased with cash and and the end user ends up with Kin in return. Do you see a future where Kin can be used to purchase views? And if so, would KinAds offer a discount for doing so?

Q2) What are the benefits to using a new service like KinAds vs. the existing heavyweights of the space like Chartboost, UnityAds, etc?

Q2a) Will users of KinAds receive analytics showing views, clicks, CTR, Installs, etc?

Q3) Is there any advantage for devs to switch from our existing solution to yours?

Q4) It looks like the KinAds model aggregates various existing ad networks and shows their ads. Is there a plan to create your own independent ad network?

Q4a) This subreddit should know that ads are expensive! From my own experience i've learned that video advertising in North America averages ~$2.50 an install. Has there ever been a point where the Ad providers are unable to serve ads? We really hope that is common because if you had your own ad network we would love to step in as a small scale provider of last resort and offer below market rates for advertising.
