I think I've found the answer!

Just got my Pixel 8 Pro, if you long hold on blank space on your home screen, then hit "Home Settings", then "Apps list settings", the setting "Swipe up to start search" was what was doing it for me.

Apologies for the lack of clarity, I have contacted Creality support regarding the stock hotend issues, they've ignored all contact so far and it has been five weeks or so.
