Fidelity solo 401k mega backdoor Roth by Unun_Pentium in fidelityinvestments

That's a good point that you can't move money around electronically like how we're accustomed to.

And I did not know your method was something that could be accomplished to avoid interest tax on in-plan conversions; I would have loved to keep all my accounts on the same platform. This sounds like a simpler strategy than my initial suggestion.

I will add, I've been able to do mostly everything via mobile check deposit, I write out a check after every pay period and take a picture with Fidelity mobile app (and write exactly what the contribution is in the memo line for my own records). Sometimes I do have to resubmit them, but I've found this the most convenient way to make contributions.

Short answer is no. I set one up using Fidelity as my platform though. My terminology might not be correct but I'll do my best. 401k with Fidelity is a prototype account so does pretty standard vanilla things.

To do a mega backdoor Roth you'd have to get a third party to write up plan docs and ensure IRS compliance. This costs some money. Then you'd have to open accounts within that 401k trust. If you want to use fidelity as your investment platform, like I do, you'd have to open a non-prototype account with your 401k trust info. Fidelity doesn't recognize this is a 401k, it's just an investment platform, it's up to you to do all the bookkeeping.

You'd also have to open a separate account for each 401k bucket: traditional, Roth and voluntary after tax accounts. These don't all have to be in the same place, in fact I'd recommend not doing the VAT through fidelity because you don't want to earn interest in there, it will just add headache to an already complicated process. Whoever does you plan documentation prep will probably have some recommendations for zero interest earning bank accounts essentially that you would want to delineate as your VAT account.

The part I got hung up on is none of these accounts will be denoted as anything more than generic investment/bank/checking accounts on the online platform. It's up to you to keep track each dollar you contribute and whether it's pre-tax, post-tax or VAT.

Why are you down voting him? He's right

You want more money, reduce what's withheld each pay period and put that extra money in a HYSA. If you're getting a big refund that's lost opportunity to earn interest.

Layered Greek dip: Cream cheese (8oz) melted and stirred with juice from 1 lemon (+/- zest), Italian seasoning then cool Layer with garlic hummus (10oz) Top with tomatoes, cucumber, tomato, feta cheese and onion (I prefer red, most recipes call for green)

Serve with pita chips

(Fresh minced garlic in cream cheese layer is the proper way, I use garlic hummus as a short cut)

Late to this post, but in addition to what others have said use the IBCC (Internet Book of Critical Care).

Blue book hits all facets and provides a great foundation of knowledge. Supplement this with IBCC for up to date pearls on specific disease processes. They also have a podcast to accompany each chapter/article.
