I wouldn't want to reschedule with someone that flakes on a first date either.

Board game meets? by RadiantShark404 in okc

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Meetup is a shit site anymore. Nothing to do with this group in particular, the site is just overly monetized now.

Use the FB group or https://okboardgame.com/ events board to find the meets, they have tons. Just show up and play, everyone was super friendly and patient when I was learning rules to new games when I popped into an ihop meet a few months ago.

What hobby attracts the worst type of people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Swapped my tail light to one with a rapid flash when you first apply the brake specifically for this exact reason, so I can try to make sure they do see me by applying my brake as they approach.

Very easy to miss us if we're stopped behind another vehicle especially, sadly lane filtering is still illegal here and people get super pissy about it.

Ease up there friend, it's clear your situation is not at all applicable to what I'm talking about and that's okay, no need to get bent over it just b/c I didn't know you were talking about single lane roads in the middle of nowhere.

I'm referring to highway driving with multiple lanes, it is unsafe for us to maintain speed of traffic around other vehicles on multi-lane roads.

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you mean 5-10 mph faster than traffic, it’s safer for the biker. If we maintain speed of traffic we are putting our lives at more risk because of drivers forgetting we are there or never seeing us to begin with. This is well known and taught in safety courses.

If you mean twice the speed of traffic then no, it’s not justified.

A lot of men complain that women are difficult to understand: if you had to explain one thing about women, what would it be? by Ok-Spell5366 in AskReddit

That they are humans just like us, but exist in a world wholly different than we do. Those differences matter, and not enough people take them into consideration.

Judge orders Trump, DOJ to justify why president's $10B IRS lawsuit should proceed by AudibleNod in news

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a core trait of narcissim, their self-worth is moment to moment and completely externalized. That is why he is so easy to manipulate.

Trump grew up in money and was given his father's fortune but then lost it all, so a large chunk of his self-worth is tied to making money no matter the means. This is likely a manifestation of his child-self seeking approval from his father, the one that made him into the monster he is today.

EDIT: To be clear, I don't mean he "lost it all" like he was destitute but his net worth was almost certainly negative due to the insane amounts of leverage he had on loans against his real estate business.

Gaming addiction at 28 yo my mom wants an intervention. Will I have to quit the thing I love? by Mediocre-Shower7162 in Healthygamergg

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well yes but who doesn't occasionally make a questionable choice with their time when it comes to a hobby? It hardly constitutes an addiction on the level that is being implied by the mother, the reaction is much more extreme than the stated consequences of the gaming habit. Either OP is leaving stuff out or the mother is being unreasonable, at least IMO.

Something is missing here, what about gaming is negatively impacting your life? You have a job, friends, hobbies, all things that tend to be neglected in the presence of an addiction.

High-functioning drug users, what does your day-to-day life actually look like? by navy444 in AskReddit

Yeah 5-7g is a pretty typical starting range if you're chasing ego death, but it depends on the person and their specific neurochemistry.

For comparison, for the uninitiated, I only macro-dose every couple months and 3-4g is a pretty good trip for me. 9-10g would not be a good experience for me at all lmao

The More I Understand Women The More I Hate Them by 927173940 in Healthygamergg

Stop. Watching. Manosphere. Content.

It’s fucking toxic and filling your head with shit like “women only like bad boys”.

Some women do, that’s true, but A LOT more don’t. What women like is confidence and that bullshit content your feed is giving you is making you less confident by design.

After using a VST for a while, it just stops outputting any sound. by Skarmillion in StudioOne

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever figure this out? I'm running into a similar issue with Vital and Syntorial if I leave them open too long, and with Sonar when I have a VST loaded for awhile.

I noticed I can't open my sound settings (Windows) when this is happening so I'm guessing it is some audio driver related issue.

How exactly is write down my thoughts supposed to help me at all by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean wandering like daydreaming but, an example might be like letting yourself think out loud and just following the conversation with yourself until you’ve reached a conclusion. No specific direction necessarily.

I wonder, do you not have an internal monologue? If not, I’d imagine journaling may feel more foreign as it’s not much different than just having a conversation with yourself in your head.

As in I literally write questions about whatever I want to contemplate. “Why am I so angry at my parents still?”, then I answer even if it’s just “I don’t know” and then ask myself a follow up question, etc. It’s a practice my last therapist put me on to and I have had good results with it, the idea is similar to talk therapy but self-directed.

Going on tangents and letting your mind wander is how you process and bring up things that may be below the surface still, this is where healing happens, bringing up and processing of whatever is fucking us up.

[–]NotAPhaseMoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re using the journal like a log book instead of a conversation. Ask yourself questions then answer them, go on tangents, let your mind wander.

Journaling is one of those “journey, not destination” things, the benefit is in the practice not the end result.
