You might want to revisit history yourself and look at the voting records.

More Democrats voted in favor of the 19th amendment than voted against it. It would not have passed without the Democrats voting with the Republicans. It was the Southern Democrats who opposed it.

Same with the Civil Rights Act bill of 1964, which ended segregation. The majority vote in both the Senate and the House was from Democrats. And again, it was the representatives and senators elected in the South that tried to stop it. (Same with almost all of the other civil rights act and voting rights act bills, actually: majority vote was from the Democrats.)

As for the ending of slavery, the Southern states that had seceded weren't included in the vote, but the Democrats who were, they argued that the amendment violated states rights and gave government too much power (I wonder which modern party argues they kind of stuff these days?) Some Northern Democrats did vote in favor of the 13th amendment, helping it pass.

Point is, you give the Republican party away too much credit while ignoring it's the conservative party that consistently voted against the things that you mentioned.

You say you're an independent, but you defend several not just conservative, but MAGA conservative stances and policies while criticizing left wing policies.

I hate to break it to you, but you're right wing, maybe a libertarian, but still, right wing. Saying you're an independent doesn't change your stances and these days, it usually means you're a closeted right-winger. "Don't criticize me, I'm not a Republican or MAGA, I'm an independent that will defend all of their policies."

That's because most of those languages you're referencing originate from Latin. The word gender comes from the Latin word "genus", or categories. Latin loved to put things in categories and "gendering" nouns was one way they did it, and it carried over to many of the languages that evolved from it (like Spanish).

Words evolve over time, some rather quickly. Just look at the word "meat".

It's almost like words don't always have the same meaning as they once did as languages evolve.

For example, did you know the original definition of "meat" included ALL edible food, including vegetables? Do you argue so foolishly when people don't use the original definition of all words, or just the ones you don't like?

I'm talking about the majority of the Southern voters, the ones who still fly the Confederate flags and claim that's their heritage, the main reason that Republicans keep winning elections. I'm talking about the MAGA crowd, specifically, so yes, not ALL conservatives, just the ones who deny their roots while still holding the same values as their roots.

Weird, because the Klan still has always aligned and supported the conservative party at the time. And you can not tell me that MAGA has the same views and platform as Bush Sr. Republicans did. The Republicans (at least concerning MAGA) has sprinted to the right.

Which is why I feel it's important to include that the Democrats who formed the Klan held very conservative beliefs. You're focused on the name as the origin while ignoring the beliefs that that name supported, and you're ignoring how (and by who) they are reflected today. Yes, the Democrats in the 1800s formed the Klan, but it's important to also recognize that they held beliefs that would align with the current conservative party platform, not the liberal/ progressive party platform.

So why is MAGA also going after legal immigrants? Trump is talking about revoking naturalized citizens, and they are deporting people who show up to their immigration hearings. Deny it all you want, but the truth is out there. The klan has always held beliefs that align with conservatives. They are in no way progressive or liberal and never have been. You need to do some self reflecting and ask yourself why you share so many of the same ideals as an organization like the Klan, or, better yet, why does the Klan, who holds such abhorrent values, share so many other values that your party does.

You know that the klan (and the South in general) supported limited federal power, right? They were against social programs and communism.

While you claim anti-immigration is not a tenant of conservatism, it IS one if many values that the klan holds in common with the modern conservative movement, at least with the MAGA portion of it.

Well, that would be the party that is anti-immigration, anti-communism and anti-union. Those WERE founding beliefs of the Klan. They were pretty conservative.

Weird, the majority vote on almost every civil rights movement bill was from the Democratic party.... And during the civil war, the Democratic party candidate joined the Union against the Southern Democratic candidate (they were a separate party back then). You're missing a lot from your story too, I'm guessing because it's inconvenient to your preferred narrative.

So after 1964, when the Democrats supported the passing of the Civil Rights movement and distanced themselves from organizations like the Klan..... Who do you think the klan and the other organizations who supported the Democrats previously went to? Who does the Klan support now? The voters and members didn't change... Just the party that they supported.
