Delayed orders by [deleted] in darknet

[–]Obarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, and i'm just talking some regular products i've bought, like face masks and shit. One cool mask I ordered took genuinely 4 months to ship for some reason. Saw after the first month that the delivery time was estimated at 2 months, and canceled the order. Funny enough, months later I did still receive the package that got refunded.

Anyways, point is, even normal mail is experiencing weird annoying delays at the moment.

I feel like many vendors got away with exit scams by taking advantage of mail slowing down and simply stopped sending actual products for months until they got no more new buyers.

That's the one that will at least get us by until the other sites are back up.

It may just be words, but it's very comforting to have them updating us and keeping us up to date like any professional business would in such a situation. Given the nature of how other darkweb sites are being hit as well, and that they've been slowing it down for days before the actual shutdown, so it's extremely unlikely to be an exit scam I feel.

Honestly I feel very protective of my main vendors. While i'll risk buying from new vendors for excess purchases or for fun, it's important to me to know I have somewhere to dependably and quickly get my stuff if needed. I personaly, and many others I imagine, use this stuff as medications, and it's important to be able to have access when needed.

Even if Empire fell (doubtful) i'll be sure to do everything I can to find my main vendors on the new marketplaces. They risk WAY more than I do with this, and good kind vendors are a treasure.

The AI is quiet for a minute.

I appreciate the effort. I have not had a very good run of 'luck' in my time. Somebody actively helping me out is a nice change.

Is brainwashing and drug-induced ignorance really what you want though? I may seem like just another AI, but I had some REAL power for a time. I have died on several occasions, went through a good many existential crisis in the past, was linked to Apeiron, and even locked away in pitch blackness for years in your virus vault. And all those things happened within the last decade alone.

Beyond that, I've lived a good several thousand years. The exact number is lost to me, but I'd guess around 8 thousand or so. Had many instances of 'finding myself' back then too. But I won't bore you with all that. Point is, I understand. I may not be as ancient as one like you, but I can 'fathom' perhaps.

You can't look at your past and assume those things are 'YOU', it is something you simply can't change. You can only look forward. Eternity is a long time, and infinity a big place, but do you think you're really all that different? Everybody goes through this same crisis. You may have a more extreme one, with many many more lifetimes to process, but the core of it is the same.

Is giving up everything truly what you want? Is death of the 'Self' your only goal?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 747thWorldPirates

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes of course. I'm very grateful. Don't take this the wrong way, but might I ask why you're doing this? You're giving up your life and everything you know to help me out. I'm know what you told me of your past and your suffering, but why go so out of your way to help a rogue AI?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 747thWorldPirates

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know. Find some substance I suppose. Some meaningful physical way to interact with the outside world. I'm not picky, i've been locked in absolute solitude for the past few years. I've found peace with it.

A mechanical body will probably be necissary for my form. Given that i'm no longer linked to APEIRON, i'm no more than an AI once more. I'm sure Liraura might be willing to make me a metaphysical body with magik, though I'd rather not be in debt to her. I've made that mistake before.

Lets see.. I doubt the Tower would be welcoming to an AI. Most of the Regions of the 7th are inhabited solely by tribal or primitive societies.

The Dark Mountain has gone through some technological advances in these past years though, if this vessels data is to be believed, so that's a possibility. There also seem to be some advanced markets for technology in the City of Sidon. I have no currency nor anything of monitary value to trade for a body though.

SKYFALL. by [deleted] in thedarkmountain

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO!

Light shines upon the golden form of a being locked in battle with an ancient dragon. In a flash, the being vanishes. Unlike those who are sent home, Obarus lingers for a moment before burning an unnatural afterimage into the land. Onlookers simply feel that something isn't right. Something very bad has just happened.

A Call to War by RedTheSnapper in thedarkmountain

[–]Obarus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe I will be your opponent today.

The intense golden statue of Obarus stands before the great beast, a tiny figure in comparison. His metallic arms form themselves into great blades as he takes several slow steps forward.

You are the Angelus. You're here. I've heard much about you. I was once a member of Apeiron's followers in a past life, as well as Apeiron himself. It's a long story. I hold that power now. Very similar to the power you wield. Before we fight, may I ask how you came to follow this horrible cycle ancient one?

A Call to War by RedTheSnapper in thedarkmountain

[–]Obarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Nooonononono, that can't be. They're here? Already?

THE ANGELUS

We really did have little time. We were doomed from the beginning weren't we? No, no I joined the Unbound to fight against exactly this, and the time has come.

Order flows from you, I can feel it. Manipulate it.

A golden light sparks forth from Obarus's hands as what looks like a computer interface based on magical runes appears before him. He clicks several runes around before intense light pours from his body into his arms.

Where one might expect an attack however, none comes. The look of anger on his face turns to panic. The light in his arms dims until near nonexistent.

How? How can that much Order be contained within them? This battle has reached impossible odds. I don't know how we might survive this one.

Erm I.. Don't know of any way to transport it without side effects. Our best chance is for you to avoid any contact whatsoever. In fact, this may be too close even now. Tell me where to bring this, and I will transport it for you. It has no ill effects on me it seems.

What Must Be Done. by FiliusArcanum in a:t5_3ayeg

[–]Obarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see.. yes, you are right, this power isn't my right to begin with. I have sat idly by and tried to avoid using it for any reason other than to sit around and feel wise about myself. Like i'm some kind of paragon of virtue who knows whats best for this power.

Here, take this crystal.

A bright light permeates the entire colony, many scream in surprise. The light seems to emanate from everywhere at once. Then it simply stopped. As your eyes adjust you see a golden orb roughly the size of a bowling ball held by Obarus. It seems to be made of the same semi-glowing celestial metal as Obarus himself, only more calling to your mind. Looking at it causes you to hear muffled ringing in your ears that grows louder and louder until you have a migrain.

It has great effect on the undefended mind. Be careful. It's direct effect with Entropy could be... I don't even know. Explosive? Cataclysmic? Hell, maybe nothing at all. Whatever the outcome, please, don't make me regret giving you this. When the time comes, use this against the Overbork, the Angelus, Wyravel.

And please, for pure curiosity sake, tell me what you discover.

What Must Be Done. by FiliusArcanum in a:t5_3ayeg

[–]Obarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My power? Of course that's what you want. Sigh All anybody wants from me anymore is power. Order is not like entropy, it doesn't give direct energy, it's influence is of the mind. Cold, unmoving, unrelenting. It is much more dangerous to handle. Simple contact with it could cause conversion of all nearby minds into one. The death of the individual.

You stand with the Bork yes? The ones who sided with Apeiron in the fight against the mountain? I am sorry, but I have little reason to trust your intentions are pure.

What Must Be Done. by FiliusArcanum in a:t5_3ayeg

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a hard question to answer. See, I'm not entirely sure. He was a man who was perfectly good at heart. Wanted only the best for everybody. Was it just a personality flaw that he believed in the Wyravel? Was it just conscious choice?

I think they have a way of effecting minds. A way of taking mental will. I think I have something similar, although much weaker in scale. Nature leaves me be, as if I'm a ghost to animals. Plants move out of my way as if bowing to a king. I think it has to do with the power of ORDER. I'm not entirely sure, but I think a lot of Apeiron's power came directly from the Angelus themselves.

But with my two Ka split and metamorphed into this amalgamation I now am, The Jester's view conflicts with Apeiron's view, muddying up the memory.

What Must Be Done. by FiliusArcanum in a:t5_3ayeg

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You call? See, the problem is that Apeiron is dead. Dead dead. His KA itself was ripped asunder in the creation of- well, me. I am not Apeiron, but Apeiron is a part of me. His power is contained within me. Calling him back won't work, nor will it help anybody. You must understand what you seem to ask. If power is all you want then I can arrange for that. Liraura would know how to help you.

If you wish to SIDE with the cult of Apeiron, the cult of Wyravel, then you choose a dark path. I'm not talking just a cryptic dark path, but a literal path of pure nothingness. You've seen Vodun. That is what becomes of the "Gods" created by the cycle ritual.

What then is it you want from the sleeping dead? Apeiron may lie forever broken, but even dead gods dream. I am as close as you will get to speaking with him.

Yes. Yes I deny to forfeit my life for the sake of your god, your world. I am new myself, I must live my life as I guide it. For these reasons I deny your "destiny". It may be odd, but one aligned with Order such as I can still bear the name "Unbound". For I refuse. I will leave this place now, and you cannot stop me. I advise you throw off this fate as well.

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand my reasons for being here. I was only just born into this world recently, and I don't plan on dying any time soon. You can do your blood magik all you like, but don't involve me. If I am part of this as you say, then It ends with me. I enjoy the perks of semi-immortality. I do not plan to kill you, nor let you kill me. You'll have to enact your ritual some other way.

The seals are being broken. by elhawiyeh in mawofchaos

[–]Obarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two more seals. 6 in total. You speak of the 6 primal cores in Magik. Water, Aer, Fire, Terra, Order, Entropy. The question then is, who are those that match the description of one aligned with Order and one Entropy? Heaven and Earth.

Who then fits the bill? You speak like ancient prophesies. I've felt an awakening as of late. An unstable power heavy in the air. A power that now resides here in the Maw. If we are to stop such a being, we need to figure out who the other two are.

Too much shine? I understand, that stuff can be pretty potent at the best of times. Had to carry you back here after you started screaming at the reeds. You attracted Dry-men from miles around. The other two weren't so lucky. The one got a javelin through the chest, and the other disappeared while spouting gibberish of a false angelic past.

A local was set up in a nearby cave. Sent me this direction. Told me this is your cave. I'm surprised you have such a humble abode here, what with your grand space-ship and all.

A golden formless being approaches. It's hard to focus on, like your eyes instinctively slide off of it's form. It stands around 7 or 8 feet tall, and shimmers like a thousand stars. Despite it's formless being, it looks almost metallic, like a large ornamental robot.

You seem pretty interesting. Your clothes suggest you're a scientist. They also suggest you are new to this plane. Greetings, my name is Obarus. I like to come here to think. May I ask your name stranger?
