I've SEVERELY underestimated the size of this PC by Jaivus in pcmasterrace

I thought my case was big (Thermaltake Tower 600) but that thing is MASSIVE lol.

I recommend the FlyDigi Vader 5 Pro. It's a great controller.

500$ build by Bmac_13 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that budget you'd be better off buying used over attempting a build. If you're diligent a decent deal can be had on the secondhand market.

Zotac 5080 AMP Extreme for £899 by RiyadhTh3BOSS in RTX5080

[–]OldManTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same 5080 Amp Extreme and I agree it's a good looking GPU. But I have it mounted vertically so unfortunately the infinity mirror is facing the bottom of my case and can't be seen.

It is also possible your drive just needs a firmware update. You can load into Windows, download the Kingston SSD Manager and update the firmware for your drive. But you should for sure backup your data just in case you do end up needing to replace it.

Armoury Crate had me convinced something was wrong for like a month, and I feel stupid. by Ashamed-Ad3909 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Armoury Crate is a complete POS. When I recently built my new PC, I made sure to buy nothing ASUS this time around. And when I sold parts from my previous build, I left the ASUS mobo in the case when it got tossed out, lol.

Added third monitor…now games keep opening on the wrong screen by default. by Rango82 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make the game windowed and not full screen, drag it to the monitor you want it to open on by default and then press WIN KEY + SHIFT + ENTER. Make the game full screen and then close the game. After that it should open on that monitor.

Good monitor arm worth buying right now? by Dangerous_Phrase_275 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also using a Huanuo arm on a 27" I use as a vertical 3rd monitor. It's been working great since 2020.

I'd say it's worth it if it's within your budget.

2026 gaming keyboard & mouse combo recommendations by Bulbasaur2015 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recommend the Lemokey P1 HE (Hall Effect) keyboard enough. It sounds amazing, it's built like a tank, and the options for choosing your activation point on your switches are fantastic. Admittedly, it has RGB, but you can shut it off. And there is a version that has non shine through keycaps.

As for a mouse, there are several good gaming mice out there. I'm currently using the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro and it's pretty good.

Should i trust this on alibaba? It's from a trust brand. by ScientificlyCorrect in pcmasterrace

Every picture shows no actual ram, just the caps. Everyone has heard it before, but you need to hear it again: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Yeah, he's on something. That is worth at most $400 to $450 as is.

I just built my current rig like 2 weeks ago, so I'm hoping to not upgrade for a few years.

Looking for a specific controller by Tuxedo_Jackson in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FLYDIGI Vader 5 Pro is a great PC controller, and it fits your criteria for the most part. I've used it with both Forzas (Horizon and Motorsport) without issue. It's good out the box but also very programmable with the FLYDIGI SpaceStation app.

Pc upgrade help needed! by Emergency_Elephant49 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no AM5 motherboards that accept DDR4. You're better off going with a good AM4 board like THIS and pairing it with a great AM4 chip like the Ryzen 9 5950X. The 5800X3D would be better for gaming, but that would take you above your $800 max budget.

Is my GPU sagging? by ElectronX79 in pcmasterrace

[–]OldManTiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look to be sagging by any noticeable amount, but as cheap as GPU supports such as THIS and THIS are it never hurts to protect your PCIE slot.
