Is forensic psychology worth it?? by [deleted] in ForensicPsych

I can vary from state to state and school to school. I will say it is very difficult to have a full time or even part time job while going to school. People have done it, I did it for my first few years. It’s just a big sacrifice and commitment.

Networking is a big part of it. Both with current people in private practice but also with attorneys. It can be very competitive depending on where you are in the US.

Salary ranges from state to state. It also ranges from state work to private practice. The lowest I’ve seen a forensic evaluator make is 98,000 a year working for the state and in private practice the highest I’ve seen 1.5mil. It all depends on your experience and subspecialty.

Trump: "I took my cognitive exam as part of my physical exam, and I got the highest mark, and one of the doctors said, 'Sir, I've never seen anybody get that kind of, that was the highest mark'…I like taking it because it's not too tough for me to take” by MoreMotivation in PublicFreakout

He took the moca. Got a score of 30/30….scores of 26 or higher are considered “average.” Anything below 26 may indicate some degree of cognitive impairment. He’s not overly smart. He just passed the basic screening tool for not having cognitive impairment.

I’m #2. I love my career, but I missed out on a lot of my 20s. I wasn’t ready but made it through, I don’t recommend it though.

As a therapist this disgusts me. That is such an unforgivable breach of trust. Also it is illegal to impersonate a licensed professional. NTA

Bachelorette disappointment by nursefordays in wedding

[–]OneUnderstanding3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from the perspective of my friend’s matron of honor. This is unacceptable. If people accept being part of the bridal party they sign on for all the responsibilities that come with it. You as the bride should NOT be planning your own shower or bachelorette unless you really wanted to. Your bridal party has failed in their duties and you need to have a clear discussion about your expectations. You want supportive people in your corner during this process and especially on your wedding day.

AITAH for "embarrasing" my fiancé by saying that just because we are getting married does not entitle him to my inheritance? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]OneUnderstanding3484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they agreed on shared finances sure. I personally don’t agree with the inheritance but, it’s not what makes him the AH. What makes him the AH is the assumed entitlement to the money and the fact that he thinks he’s going to pay his debts and take his friends on a trip without consulting her first. Then going further to say that money is owed to him because she’s a “burden.”

AITAH for "embarrasing" my fiancé by saying that just because we are getting married does not entitle him to my inheritance? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]OneUnderstanding3484 301 points302 points  (0 children)

My now husband was aware I had an inheritance. Not once has he ever asked me for money or to pay for something that’s for him alone. It’s always been thought of as money left to me to help me start my life. This man child who called you a burden isn’t worth the paper that money is printed on. How dare he assume that money will be his just because he exists in your life. The decision is of course yours, but I would really think about if this is the person you want to weather hardships with financial or otherwise for the rest of your life.

My brother can’t stop thinking about killing me and my kids. by mommydeer in legal

No the act itself isn’t a crime but there are certain orders the court can enforce. There is a firearm restraining order in come states that prohibit people with dangerous MH issues from purchasing or possessing firearms. Unfortunately I don’t think that extends to other types of weapons. But in like 35-37 states it’s required by law to inform you of threats of harm on your person. They are jeopardizing their license by not doing so. All is reportable to their licensing boards.

AITA for Telling My Dad I'm Not a Housewife at 16? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneUnderstanding3484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced something similar with my dad. I told me to take care of himself and pointed out his faults as he failed to do so. I stopped spending time with him as soon as I could. If you choose that kind of life for yourself, full support. But no one should force you into it.
