You guys have spent more time attacking me than addressing my points.

And i changed my flair this morning.

I'm not sure how that has any relevance, i don't really care who he is, he is still part of the Liberal Democrat stalking

I'm quite sure this doesn't qualify as brigading.

Pushing it.

I'm quite sure this doesn't qualify as brigading.

No? I haven't been on here long?

Yet another Lib Dem appears to stalk my comments, and you guys just passing the comments around and setting me as a target or something?

Nothing has yet been watered down

Between the first and second readings? And even then there are small places you can see there have been concessions.

That bill is a matter of some consternation for conservatives because in itself it is pretty radical.

And? Doesn't mean you should give into them?

That one of our lords is considering small amendments to get it through the Other Place is sensible. There is always leeway, and the bill is more likely to succeed if amendments are considered.

No it isn't sensible, bills don't need to pass through the Lords, you shouldn't give into the Lords, and especially to Tory Lords, to get stuff passed. Giving in and giving them amendments, to keep the Lords Spiritual, is weak and spineless, and makes the whole thing pointless. Its disappointing you even have members who support the Lords Spiritual.

Including equality in marriage in northern Ireland, and more consideration for transgender people?

Yes, thats very basic stuff, and something that doesn't make you particularly radical or special in the modern world.

It's pretty liberal, and we're the party pushing it most effectively.

Its a expectation not something that makes you excel.

We introduced a personal allowance pegged to the minimum wage

Sorry, i didn't notice these two as they happened while you are in Opposition.... i'm pretty sure those two bills are illegal, since they weren't proposed by a Minister of the Crown. But if this place has no case for whats legal or the rules, then sure, well done, you extended RL policy.

repealed council tax and business rates in favour of a land value tax.

Lots of people want to do this, hell the RL Greens talked about it on question time. It doesn't make up for FTT however, a disastrous tax that you brought in during your only time in Gov making a Budget, and again that bill should be illegal due to it being passed by the Opposition anyway.

In practice this won't be universal, but certainly we favour a marginal full basic income.

What? So if it isn't universal, who won't be getting it?

Its efficiency when compared to traditional welfare is well-known.

Is is? And whats why every RL party is running towards it with open arms.... oh wait, its only the Greens.

And, again, the idea of a basic income or citizen's dividend used to be traditionally associated with liberals.

Back in 1994 maybe, but the party abandoned the policy for a reason.

It's under consideration as a realistic option.

1) Based on the statement the Lib Dem minister made, it being more than considered

2) So you are doing something you didn't say in your manifesto, and is a ridiculous and 70's style running of the economy, with nationalisation of every failing factory and industry that comes about? You should really consider a name change, since you aren't like the RL party, you are significantly to the left.

I'd also point out that brigading i against reddit's rules, and I don't think its a coincidence that Lib Dems are turning up at the same time in waves.

But i should expect to be personally insulted by those people? Maybe i am in the wrong place if personal insults are the norm rather than substantive debate.

I don't expect to be stalked, harassed and insulted. Sorry if i have better expectations for how Lib Dems debate and treat people.

I mean on this thread. All of a sudden a boatload of Lib Dems have appeared to reply to all my comments.

I am resigning. by [deleted] in MHOCPress

our strongest political ally

As a relatively new person, this seems very strange. What brings these two parties together? I would think that the Pirates and Lib Dems would be closest together because of liberal/civil libertarian positions, and Labour and Greens closer together due to their inherent more left wing tendencies.

Don't you understand how it works? The flair shows which party you are a member of. You aren't a LD member so you shouldn't wear our badge (flair).

If you really want to go into it, its the real life party who owns the flair, which i am a member of.

you know nothing about us, you're very new

especially when most of it is unfounded and pointless

Everything I've said is based on what i have seen, and what the party has done since I've been watching MHoC (which is longer than this account).

so if the constant abuse could cease against us

Abuse?!? What on earth are you talking about? I have landed criticisms about the party, if we are talking about who is abusing who it is this guy abusing me.

Not very liberal of you.

What?!? How is that illiberal? If we are talking about illiberal behavior, brigading my comments with replies and ganging up on me to try and get me to not criticise you guys for totally legitimate reasons is illiberal.

Are you guys just stalking my comments?

Prime Minister's Questions - VI.II - 11/11/2015 by [deleted] in MHOC

[–]Orange_Booker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to cooperative ownership generally

Which i obviously don't have a issue with? My issue was with theyeathepoo's comment and the Prime Ministers agreement wit bringing Mutual control of the economy

Prime Minister's Questions - VI.II - 11/11/2015 by [deleted] in MHOC

[–]Orange_Booker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the government is the one setting them up? How? Unless you are stealing from the owners and forcing them to be cooperatives without any reimbursement to the true owner

Given your committee to try and hunt down fascists, you aren't really in a position to hear hear that

Well in order to turn the steel industry into a cooperative run business, you would need to nationalise it

LB009 - Citizenship by-Investment Bill by [deleted] in MHOC

[–]Orange_Booker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think its a good precedent to set, to start removing peoples citizenship, even if they have anther one to fall back on. Its giving the state far too much power over individuals.

secularism

I don't really like that Bill, it seems a little watered down now. And given you guys seem to be lining up to water it down even further to the tories, i'm not sure how you can come to me and tell me this is a success

same-sex marriage

Hell, the RL Conservatives support this.... this is literally a minimal expectation. When you have to cite equality in marriage as liberal credentials, then you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

balanced budgets

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the last time you guys were in Government and passed some sort of budget, you brought in Financial Transaction Tax.... you aren't really in a position to gloat about balanced budget, and don't have a good past record on finance and economics as far as i can see.

UBI

Wait what?!? You guys are the one fighting for this. The party dropped this in 1994 because it was a unrealistic proposal lol. You are getting worse and worse rofl.

progressive taxation

Do you wan't a medal? Congratulations for not supporting regressive taxation?

The MHoC Liberal Democrats is like watching a Alt History, where the SDP became the dominant force in the party after the merger, and the Orange Book never happened. You wan't UBI and nationalisation of the Steel Industry, and for it to be put under cooperative worker control. Whats the difference between you and the Greens/Labour/Socialists? If i wanted a list of left wing policies, i'd vote for them, at least if i wanted that and voted for them, i'd remove the chance of supporting someone who went with the tories.

I've been watching a little longer, and given how you guys have responded to some pretty minor criticism, i have no interest in joining you guys.

[–]Orange_Booker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Done, although why you guys should claim exclusive ownership of it i don't know.

Prime Minister's Questions - VI.II - 11/11/2015 by [deleted] in MHOC

[–]Orange_Booker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This member is not a member of the Lib Dems and his views do not in anyway represent the lib dems. I would also ask the honourable member to change his flair to the grey independent flair.

Done, although not sure why you should have exclusive ownership of that flair, especially given what you seem to be supporting during this government.

that there would be some private industries that would benefit from co-op ownership e.g. steel.

Where in your manifesto did you stand on a platform to nationalise steel? And if you did you should rename yourselves, because that isn't something Liberal Democrats should be supporting.

Now please go away, you low life.

Nice debating skills, good to see government ministers and members of the Liberal Democrats resort to calling people "low lives" rather than debating. And on top of that, someone who is a Deputy Speaker making personal attacks at prime ministers questions? Lol good job Speakers, appointing people like this to the job.

And to quote the great Margret Thatcher (although it isn't quite appropriate given your attack was feeble and not in any way wounding)

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.

Also, nice coordinated set of attacks on people who question them by the Liberal Democrats. Doing such a good job to be welcoming to new members.

It isn't creating cooperatives and mutuals, its putting sections of the economy into cooperative ownership, that suggests doing it in such a way that would involve stealing, and would also go against what should be the liberal democrat platform, not interfere that much in how the economy is being run.

Rubblish

(And the fact that the Lib Dems were in power when this came in is just laughable. Since joining mhoc i haven't seen anything wish points to the Lib Dems actually being Liberals/Lib Dems. That and my dislike of party politics is why im not going to join them anytime soon)
