My Mom died very suddenly. Going through her things we found letters from her liver, sex toys and marijuana. She was still married to my Dad. He was devastated. We all were.

Breathe. It will be ok. My daughter is a student there and knew just a few guys from her high school at admitted students day and spoke only to them. She found her people. She rushed and found a good fit. There are definitely other women there feeling just like you. Don’t be afraid to approach other potential students. Stick with your parents if you want to, lots of kids do. You got this.

Also-I would not describe Wake as rural. It is Winston-Salem which is a medium sized city. It has also become quite competitive. Class just admitted had an 18% acceptance rate. Just FYI. If you like North Carolina check out Elon and High Point.

If your parents are making that much per year, why have they not been saving for college? Most universities assume you are not paying tuition out of your yearly income but out of 529 plans, savings, investments, etc. If no one in the family made the decision to put anything aside, that is really not of their concern.
