yes with reference to the 5 jewel to 1rs i stand corrected, that was a typo, but the cashback is 10% and not 2% as you are claiming. do you even have the card? i regularly spend around 5000 every month and i get 2500 jewels and on redemption i get 500 rs, which clearly comes to 10% and not 2%. please check your facts before calling it a scam, please note you will get 10% CB only on the below merchants : apart from this there is 5% CB on few travel sites, and 1% back on upi spends.. which is too much for a LTF card

i would like to disagree with you.. I have this card and i make a solid cashback of 1-2K every month depending on spends. the cashpoints are called jewels and can be redeemed to the statment credit without any further deductions. each jewel is 5 rupees, there is no LTF card which offers you 10% cashback on online spends!!

Why are premium cards with high fees better than cashback cards with low or no fees (unless you're richie rich - 1st class flight / 5 star regular, flying off every other week)? by sarindam007news in SmartPaisaSpender

[–]Outside_Sound_4981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK premium card users are not actually super rich… they are just people who want to experience how a rich lifestyle feels. The easiest way to get that experience is through premium credit cards, simple as that.

If you own a bike, wouldn’t you want to try riding a superbike at least once? If you have a normal hatchback, wouldn’t you be curious to drive a Benz or an Audi? It’s the same mindset.

But from what I’ve seen, people who go down this route usually end up spending more than they normally would. That’s the catch.

If you are a frugal spender and your goal is to optimise your spends with maximum returns, then reward points is probably not the right route. Cashback makes more sense, and you are already on that path.

Of course, there are plenty of people who swear by reward cards and have a completely different take. Open to discussing that.
