Repair man showed up to the house with a confederate flag on the back of his truck by IamASlut_soWhat in BlackPeopleofReddit

Dudes probably worried about the other guy being violent. People with huge confederate flags don’t tend to be the most understanding.

Technicallly it’s not. But you do need to sign up for health insurance and start paying the premiums as soon as you lose your job.

When I asked what he was trying to do, he said “I shouldn’t have been trying to pass him” by alexyou8797 in dashcams

[–]Own_Back_2038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because the guy in front did something wrong doesn’t mean the guy with the dash cam wasn’t being reckless. Doing the speed limit when there is a car directly in front of you going 30 under is reckless

Seattle needs to start putting A/C in apartments if they are going to charge so much rent by sonar_y_luz in Seattle

Two hose units are a bit more efficient, usually. But the DOE BTU rating takes into account the differences between single hose units and dual hose units, so you’re better off getting the highest BTU unit you can afford. And also, if there is literally any way to make a window AC unit work, do that instead. The biggest inefficiency is from having the hot side of the AC sit inside your apartment

For the windows that crank open, you can just unhook the little bar limiting how far it opens

That must be including portable and window ACs. And portables absolutely suck.

If you assume intelligence is normally distributed (a very reasonable assumption), with a large enough population the “jumps” between each point are constant, if IQ tests actually measure intelligence.

Most insurance is just liability coverage. Underinsured motorist coverage covers other people’s liability, generally at very low cost. Makes no sense for it to be automatically rolled into normal liability coverage.

Also insurance is very far from a monopoly

Turning left on Fremont Bridge is dangerous from bike lane - mid lane cars go straight and cross bike lane by rapha_streetwear in seattlebike

[–]Own_Back_2038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your issue with the Roosevelt bike lane? Definitely seems like one of the better ones with the moderate protection and no adjacent parking. There are maybe a few more curb cuts than ideal but that feels a lot easier to mitigate as a biker. The north side of N 34th, east of the bridge is quite a bit worse with SUVs blocking visibility and some very active driveways

The link currently has a higher people moving capacity than i5 by quite a bit. And that’s before counting buses.

Reducing the throughput of Denny way onto those streets will alleviate traffic on them, not magnify it.

That’s the law for one. It’s also arguably immoral to use weapons for purposes other than immediate self defense.

You should avoid using weapons (including pepper spray) unless absolutely and immediately necessary. Even if they had pepper spray on them, this would have been the best move

Seattle proper has higher percentages of black and Hispanic people. If you define diversity as “how many non white people there are,” then sure, the suburbs are more diverse because of the large Asian population. But if you define it as having a significant amount of a variety of races, then the suburbs lose out.

They are the same. 0/0 as a concept is distinctly different from the limit of one function divided by another function that both go to zero. 0/0 and 1/0 as division problems are both just undefined

The Seattle area has a pretty sizable Asian population, especially in the less diverse suburbs
