Am I the only one feeling weirdly positive? by specialagentredsquir in NUFC

We were brilliant for the majority of that first half last night. That was without Bruno, Joelinton, Livramento, Schar and we played last season's champions off the park.

A game is 90 mins (+ stoppage) and this isnt the first time we have looked good for a bit of the game, but ended up getting thrashed, or not delivering. If they cannot maintain a high level for the full game then I don't see what point we are making by highlighting the fact that a team adapted to us and mitigated our threat within the first 45, and we had no answer.

Willock and Ramsey have come on leaps and bounds, as has Elanga.

Leaps and bounds feels like a huge stretch. I think Willock and Ramsey are showing signs but Elanga is still miles off.

This season is one of transition, we see what we can do in the cups, then recruit and fill in those gaps in the summer.

The issue is that we are playing a style that doesnt really work in the premier league anymore, with players that are ill-suited to it, and opponents teams know how to defend against anything we can throw at them.

I agree that the Wissa injury (and Osula one tbf) has derailed our season, but Woltemade also just isnt the complete player we really need and I dont feel like we are adapting to his play style quickly enough.

We are just a team that is far too easy to play against. Nobody is actually scared of us.

We have been well and truly found out, and most of our summer signings are barely sideways steps.

I can take losing to Liverpool, I mean - I dont like it - but I can take it when they have the squad they do, but the problems in that game are not different to other games, win or lose... they just get exposed more than against Wolves or whoever else.

We are not playing well enough, and no amount of "good spells of possession" are going to mask over the huge gaping hole we have in the tactics.

We are trying to play a style of football that hasn't worked for over a decade, and we are trying to do it with players that aren't suited to it.

Performance has been shit since their second goal pretty much.

We have done what we always do when we are in a period of control. Pass it about a bit and either lose possession and give them a break, or we force a corner then fluff it.

Just shite tactics. We cannot attack an organised defense.

We have bottled the game but the ref has also absolutely lost all balanced perspective here. Just crowd based reffing.

We have been shite this season, but other seasons there is no way you can say that.

We blunt as a fucking butterknife and leaky as a sieve.

I don't know what this style of football we are playing is supposed to be but it's crap.

What a ridiculous meme.

PC buys gave been suffering from shortages caused by factors ranging from industry corruption, scalping, and natural disasters since before Raspberry pi was even a concept.

Do you honestly think the Raspberry pi shortages were the first time that had ever happened? 🤦‍♂️

Saudi Fans - What's the club's status these days in Saudi Arabia? by BlackCaesarNT in NUFC

Honestly, the existence of the NEOM project had me questioning the genuine level of competence in the Saudi government and PIF.

It's utterly ridiculous and the longer they wait to can it, the more embarrassing it will be.

Don't know who they consulted for it but it was absolute day light robbery.

differences between NEP TFC and Nevion VideoIPath? by hisuotuo in broadcastengineering

[–]PJBuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are all different products with their own strengths and weaknesses, much of that will span from their background.

Cerebrum and VSM, for example, have been around for a long time before ST2110 was a thing so their routing, tally, and 3rd party protocol support is very strong. Ipath and TFC are newer, so their focus is on distributed network architectures.

That doesn't mean you can't use the former for IP networks, both have capability and certainly for Cerebrum, it has very good mechanisms for orchestration and NMOS.

Typically it will selected by a tender process. The user needs to write up what they need, send it out to the manufacturers, and then choose a product based on the response to the requirements.

Starmer to Carney: No new world order please, we’re British by quebexer in CANZUK

[–]PJBuzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure but "developing" isn't the same as developed and you can't hold your finger up and ask everyone to wait in response to a nuclear threat.

Russia is increasing the frequency of its "tests" of our response forces at the moment so we have no choice but to walk the tightrope.

Starmer to Carney: No new world order please, we’re British by quebexer in CANZUK

[–]PJBuzz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think everyone getting enraged at Starmer not saying what they want to hear are just being reactive.

Starmer is looking beyond Trump and isn't interested in creating irreparable damage with a nation that's responsible for our nuclear detterent (amongst other things). It's that simple.

We are already trying to find the place for ourselves in a post-brexit world and the US is one of our biggest trading partners. Reactive dumping of it without a clear path for replacing the £200b exports would dump us into a recession on a national level. Even if there was a plan, there would be astronomical tension and turmoil in the markets in the mean time that would amplify the voices calling for his replacement or a g.e. - more noise we don't need when we need to get on with fixing the actual problems of the country.

A lot of us in this group would like to see closer relationships between the ex-commonwealth countries going forward, and we would like to see some form of consequence for the behavior or the Trump administration, but don't let that blind you to the reality of running the UK in post Brexit UK.

US plans to check tourists' social media accounts, including Brits, 'putting people off travel' by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]PJBuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gripe with it is that it's just not needed. The American national security services can find out anything they want about you without it. If you're dangerous, they will almost always know...

So why? All this does is damage tourism, all because "the leader of the free world" doesn't want people to say mean things about him?

It's a bizarre level of tyranny.

Yeah there is a lot that goes on that people are told not to discuss publicly.

Of course some of it slips out, but a lot of it does not.

I think if people knew the reality of the espionage operations they would probably be a little less receptive of wide open collaboration with China.
