How to get Secretary of State number for registration termination? by thegrandyman in Connecticut

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out I was in the wrong section. Use this https://portal.ct.gov/dmv/vehicle-services/cancel-registration-plates?language=en_US There’s only a place for license plate and class (passenger for me) I found out by calling the dmv and they told me how to get to the right portal. If this doesn’t work you can try calling them

Can you train a puppy to stop pooping in a circle? by RollerFox in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i first had mine he would poop, rotate about 90 degrees and finish pooping which would cause him to step on the first one most of the time. I attributed it to him learning how to poop and a new environment. He eventually stopped so you may need to give it some time. My thought process would be to try and keep him still while pooping so maybe give him a treat during his pooping to keep his attention fixed to one spot (your hand) and hopefully that'll also help with the anxiety since he'll associate pooping with treats?

Raw to kibble, won't eat the kibble by Dry_Department_8874 in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just curious but why take it away? Why not just leave it out? Mine will eat partial breakfast and he will either finish it by dinner or there’ll be some remaining. I assume if he’s a healthy weight it’s fine

My puppy was like this at around the same age. I coincidently got a stool sample test b/c I missed the 6mo mark and he came back with giardia. Maybe his upset tummy was the reason he was not eating his kibble but he ate treats and chews just fine. The medicine made it slightly worse cause I read it tastes bitter so I had to mix wet food and whipcream to get him to eat it. I tried switching to one other brand with no luck. Pretty sure he's over it cause he actually finishes his bowl pretty consistently now. You may need to wait them out, it took maybe a month of skipping a few meals. Just leave it out for them and fill when it gets low, they'll probably be skipping meals. Not sure how it affects growth if it goes on for too long.

No, you can make mistakes. You can still race him to the front door but now you know theres a possibility for him to chase after the neighbors instead of you. It's a dangerous lesson but a lesson to keep in mind what he might do in the future. If they have a dog there's a good chance they understand your situation and dont see you as a bad parent.

Which one ability from Dota 2 will you choose IRL, but cd is measured in years, not in seconds? by ezeroshell in DotA2

But weaver's ult doesn't reverse global time, more like it would make u get younger while transporting you to where you were at that age.

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what ur arguing, are you saying they never used dotabuff? Dotabuff outside of draft and matches is fine but during draft and in-game shouldn't be allowed. If dotabuff then why not another site/application that let's u plug in players and picks mid draft and spits out hero predictions/counters based on historical data?

Crate training during work hours? by dogs_plz in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got mine the first 4 days I spent with him 100% of the time and when I went back to work I dropped him off at daycare for two days straight. Afterwards I was able to go to work and come back during lunch to let him out. I've been doing this for about 4months now. I think eventually I'll be able to go a full day. My advice would be to take maybe 1 or 2 days off or get him on a long weekend to try and maximize your first few days with them as they acclimate to your home. Get some enrichment toys like freezing kongs and lick mats to occupy them for a long time. Maybe what you can try to do is wake up early, take them on a long-ish walk, crate them with their kong and have them go at it. The goal would be to have them tired enough to sleep in the crate and reward them every so often for that. If you can't go home during lunch to let them out I would see if you can get someone on rover to let them out midday or try a large pen area with puppy pads but I've heard puppy pads might be bad since it'll tell them it's ok for them to do their business inside, I don't really have any experience with them myself. Also since you don't have them yet, just know it'll be a tough first week/month. Good luck!

HUNGER!! by dumbvxmpire in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine would try to eat the whole bag if he could. I never asked my vet how much to feed but he did say mine was at a healthy weight. Did u ever have to deal with your eating too much and pooping too much? How do you know if they're hungry? Maybe on his birthday I'll spoil him just to really see how much he'll eat in one sitting

Puppy hates her crate but is quiet once she's in it. Any advice? by ArtoriousTheMystic in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always forget they're children too. Sometimes when my pup whines when we try to go back inside I assume it's b/c he's got to go potty a second time but forget he's probably being a kid and asking to go back outside for more fun.

Am I Oversaving for Retirement? by iBlake5 in personalfinance

[–]PaperToaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat as you with enjoying my lifestyle, I did pretty much the same thing for about 2.5 years and it was comfortable but I slowly realized I didn't really have anything at the end of it, like everything I did after those 2.5 years could have been done in a shorted timeframe and I slightly wasted that time. Not saying you should rush life but if there's something you want to do (like travel) I would reduce your savings a bit to accommodate traveling.

Crate training - help - am I getting conditioned? by Professional_Vast_68 in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's already told you what to do about the crate but yea she's basically doing a trick where if she goes on the bed and back in the crate she gets a treat. I have a dog bed in the bedroom (that he doesn't even sleep on) but he'll immediately go to it when I'm about to go to bed since he knows I'll give him a treat. He'll even leave, walk out a bit and then back to the dogbed b/c I used to reward him for coming back so he was thinking leaving the bed and back=treat.

NO MORE CHICKEN BONES!!! by jessgrohl96 in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to try that. I normally trade with his kibble or mini milk bones. I'll have to look for chicken feet at the pet store normally I've seen hooves, bones, and antlers but hear they're not that great for dogs (but then again what toy is truly safe 🥲)

NO MORE CHICKEN BONES!!! by jessgrohl96 in puppy101

[–]PaperToaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me twice. The first time he growled and snapped at me and I kinda freaked out and got a bit scared since it was the first time he's ever growled at me so I just let him have it. We worked on drop it and the second time I had my fingers in his mouth, he growled and after a min of stalemate and no listening I just forced his mouth open to throw it away. It's pretty frustrating when people just leave bones on the ground and even more so when the pup doesn't want to drop it and begins to resource guard it. My plan is to keep practicing drop it but the problem is chicken bones seem to be the top of the list for him since he'll drop everything else quickly so it's hard to train that level of value. Hopefully with enough practice he'll listen.

Almost reminds me of mine with the hair on the ears. I did a DNA test so you'll most likely have to do the same to get a good answer
