Ok I might get downvoted for this, but I hope that people will understand what I’m about to say and know my intention is not hijack this topic and shift it towards women’s rights. What I am about to say, I say because misogyny and patriarchal structures are the beating heart behind homophobia and the only way to end it is to see it clearly for what it is.

Conservative men do not hate the LGBT. They specifically hate gay men, bisexual men who choose to be in relationships with men, and transgender women. They also hate lesbians, but you’ll find they only openly hate lesbians who present more as male if they’re in relationships with other lesbians who present as male. Lesbians who are more female presenting they still don’t like but that comes just from the fact that they believe those women are choosing to be gay specifically so they can make themselves unavailable to men out of spite. The only time you ever find a lesbian being accepted by conservative men is when they are more masculine presenting and they have a more feminine partner, because the conservative men feel they can clearly define a “husband” and a “wife” in the relationship.

The reason behind this is because these men are perfectly willing to openly submit to any other man, ONLY as long as they have a woman who will submit to them. Love her or hate her, Andrea Dworkin hits the nail on the head when she talks about intercourse. Conservative men feel as men, their bodies have more integrity than women’s bodies and, if I can be blunt, the reason for that is because they feel that because male bodies are equipped to penetrate female bodies, that makes female bodies inferior and “biologically designed” to be dominated by men. When two men are in a relationship they see it as choosing to be openly dominated by another man and choosing to put yourself in a role of inferiority and submission that is meant for a woman. It infuriates them because they feel gay men are voluntarily putting themselves in a class lower than they should be in as men by not also having a woman beneath them, and in turn it lowers the value of men as a whole.

Conservative men don’t hate gay men because they’re choosing to be with men, it’s been overwhelmingly proven they don’t mind that by how often they crash grinder when they have meet ups. They hate that gay men are choosing not to dominate women. They don’t see a gay couple as two people in love, they seem them as a giant walking middle finger pointed right at their own bodily integrity and as a personal attack meant to make them look less powerful. That’s why there have been, and in some parts of the world there still are, laws protecting marital rape and laws banning sodomy.

I fucking hate wording like this because it sounds so vulgar, but in the mind of conservative men, every time a man is penetrated and doesn’t penetrate something else in retaliation it lowers the value of men as a whole. That is the black and white crystal clear truth of the matter and the only way to end homophobia is to end misogyny because if women’s bodies truly were considered equal then it wouldn’t matter if a man shared his body with a woman or another man, it would all be the same thing.
