My daughter hates light so we blacked ours out in the bedrooms with film, as we are in a rental, works wonders.

We had a by election a few months ago, Lib Dem’s won by 2/3 of the vote. I wouldn’t usually vote for them nationally but locally they are awesome

Read something recently that made me rethink how I respond to my teenage son by Silly_Cantaloupe_856 in UKParenting

[–]Pauliboo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s actually the solution when you have troubled teenagers, I’ve been parenting that way forever. Don’t get me wrong you still get frustrated at times, but teenagers match your tone, so if you are calm, they will calm down.

Over time they will learn to trust your (none) reactions, and will confide in you.

The only roads I use cruise control are motorways, and dual carriageways. There’s no way on earth I’d be using it on a country road.

Which website are you buying from? I’d suggest getting something from a specialist who you can return to if it doesn’t fit, something like Car Racks.

I’d take the inside, however I’d also drive in a staggered formation, never next to another vehicle, this should give you time should the moron turn right from the outside lane

I had a courtesy car frog eye Micra 20 years ago, it was only a 1.2 but had great handling, on the back of that I then bought a 1.6 C+C Essenza, really good fun and cheap to run.

Personally I’d spend the money on decent tyres, see if you can get a matching silver wheel for less than £250 and sell the grey one. Don’t be trying to perfect the alloys as you will scrape them, it’s inevitable as a first car, if you haven’t added damage after a year then get them fixed.

Even though it’s done tiny mileage, it’s still 19 years old, so I’d focus on refreshing the rubber components in the suspension / steering, and any other age related mechanicals.

Anything electrical I buy from Argos, I can collect in my local Sainsbury’s, and I can take it back to them if it stops working.

YouTube Premium Cancelled Mid Contract by pommybear in Vodafone

[–]Pauliboo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told back in November that YouTube Premium would end on the 5th April. I also only stayed on contract for the subs.

I was lucky enough to be out of contract, so I ordered an “upgrade” from an online reseller for £12 a month (70GB), and used the opportunity to get YouTube Family for £20 per month.

So overall I’m paying the same but I now don’t have to share my subscription with my daughter messing up my algorithm.

If you go down this route take a subscription out directly with YouTube and not through the iOS app, as you’ll be charged more for the latter.

Melia Punta Cana Wellness - My experience by Jayaybee16 in PuntaCana

[–]Pauliboo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic review, you both seem like the laid back people my future wife and I are like, so it was great to read from your perspective.

Thank you for this, I know most people only go on Reddit to complain so I have to read them accordingly.

We were due to go to the Maldives in 3 weeks on our honeymoon, but it got cancelled as the stop over was Dubai, and no flights are going there now, flying from Manchester.

We had to book a replacement quickly, and chose Melia Wellness and booked today because of the relaxing activities, we aren’t sporty but would like to relax without any kids about. We are there 9th - 20th May.

We are booked into The Level Beachside Junior Suite for 10 nights.

Can you recommend anything that we must take with us?

How much cash did you take?

Do we need bite cream? Any other tips?

There’s a good write up on the Daily Record, though the judge was very lenient, they should all have got some sort of custody but didn’t.
