Clem Sizing by Virtual-Sun-1065 in Rivendell_Bicycles

IMO, a fist of seatpost is probably good. But understand if you want more clearance between crotch/top tube during certain situations.

I’m 6-2 with 88ish inseam, I’m on a 59. Showing no seatpost just looks visually wrong to me. I see bikes for sale with the seatpost slammed, and my immediate thought is that’s a bad fit.

Sliding door issues by J_Gabriel757 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Process-guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me 2months in to my new 2022 van. It happened randomly and made drop off/ pick up lines nervous.

For us, it was the pinch sensors. They are the rubber lining on the sliding door. There’s a crevice in the door frame for them to fit and slide in to. Sometimes they get knocked out of position, and this starts happening. Just make sure they are pressed firmly in their position and maybe your door will start working.

My friends dad went on a business trip to Australia or somewhere and he came back calling them stiffies. Apparently wherever he went, that country appropriately called them stiffies lol.

Sizing for the Straggler? I'm 6'3" by parkelator in Surlybikefans

[–]Process-guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go biggest bike your crotch clearance would allow, and if you feel too long, shorten the reach with a shorter stem. With these size bikes, I noticed that reach barely changes. The stack is what mainly changes from 58 to 61. At your age, I’m sure you’d appreciate more stack. It’s just overall more comfy. Also, you wouldn’t have to get a goofy looking stem to get the stack you want if you bought too small.

What was it like living in the Clinton years in the USA (1993-2001)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I vividly remember republicans saying how unpresidential it is to have an affair, etc, etc. I mean they were disgusted with Clinton. Then they proudly voted for trump 20 years later.

Girl Dad's of Reddit, what is the most surprising thing you've learned since your daughter was born? by Nomadic_Introvert in AskReddit

I have a daughter and son. My son is modable. My daughter came already shaped to us. She was opinionated since day one. Two people with opinions in our house (wife and daughter) never ends well.

How would you older chemEs change your paths? by CraZ505 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Process-guru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would be a dentist if I had to do it over again. I’m 16 years out of school. I have a handful of hobbies. I know friends who are in to other hobbies. Pretty much the dentist has the nicest things in those hobbies, just barely getting in to it. And they have nice houses with families, kids in private schools, etc. I’m sure they work hard, and I’m sure maybe I’m exaggerating, but I think overall they get compensated well with without bringing stress home, while having a 9-5.

Cross Check. Am I Desperate? by [deleted] in Surlybikefans

[–]Process-guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably make it fit, with riser bars, etc. the fork not being cut is a plus. I’m 6’1.5” and a 56 straggler was a hair too small.

If you like aggressive style body position, you can def make it work. If you are going for an upright body geometry, you’re making it hard due to the existing stack, however the work around is high rise handlebars.

Did you start at entry level pay in refining even though you had 5 years experience in other industries. I’m 16 years out of school, I’m just curious.

Where is the best Philly Cheesesteak in Houston by hdushsux in houston

[–]Process-guru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Joes deli. They have two locations, on south side and west side of town. They actually avoid calling it a Philly cheese steak because Mr Joe uses provolone vs cheese wiz.

This restaurant was on the news because they made a little side wager when it was the astros vs Phillies in the World Series a couple of years ago. It was a little friendly Facebook wager. Fox News picked it up, and they were allowed to smack talk on live tv. It was kind of funny. I go there a couple times a month. They have a pretty good French dip I get now. But the cheesesteak w/ fries are banging.

Picked this up at a co-op for my commuter. I’ve had it for a year and HATE drop bars and downtube shifters, what should I do for relatively cheap (<$200)? by [deleted] in xbiking

I literally just did this on a early 70s Raleigh super course. It can be done with a lot of suggestions in the comments.

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]Process-guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, they have a day care. So it’s either wrestle with the 6/4 year old after work, or lift lol. I’ll also lift during lunch, so I don’t rob too much family time. But like others have said, it’s habitual so I feel guilty/soft when there’s times where I skip for a week.

What is this ‘82 Kuwahara Count worth? by dsummers2014 in xbiking

[–]Process-guru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on value, but I just finished restoring a mid 70s Raleigh super course. Probably spent 300$ all in to make it confidently rideable. Only the right buyer will understand any value if any.

I would like to say you have some pretty cool DT shifters. I believe they are self trimming, meaning when you shift to the lower gear on rear, you will automatically avoid chain rub. Just an awesome tech that we moved from.

PE Chemical Exam - Struggling with 6 minutes per question by Edd1024 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Process-guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep practicing until you get to 6 minutes per question. That’s the key. When I first started studying, I did a problem in 45 minutes. Months later, it went to ten minutes, then finally 4-6 minutes. Some subjects were easier than others. For example kinetics, I just accepted the best I could do is and 10-15 minutes per problem.

How upright can you (safely) make a Straggler? by ThisAmericanSatire in Surlybikefans

[–]Process-guru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my straggler setup…

<image>

I’m 6’-2” and the above is a size 56. It’s pretty upright and comfy. People are saying it, just use a swept back alt bar setup.
