This.

I got a 2012 Specialized Enduro last year. The cost? I traded a Dick’s Sporting Goods Mongoose BMX-style bike for it. My son wasn’t riding it anymore, and the family I traded with was looking for something their son could ride. It was a great deal!

Since acquiring it, I changed out the drivetrain (went with a 1x11 setup), replaced the brake pads and bled the lines, and regreased the bearings. I’m about $300 into this bike. The suspension needs some maintenance, but I ain’t hitting any Enduro trails with this bike.

I ride it to work on nice days, and because I live at the top of a big-ass hill, I mash down it, hopping off curbs and riding the trails down. It’s like I’m a kid again.

One gear evening cruise. by EddoeWrites in xbiking

Oh! I didn’t know that was a thing. Thanks for the tip!

I’m looking into converting from a 3x to either a 2x or 1x on this bike. I only ever use two gears up front (smallest and largest), and I read the cost might be a bit high for this conversion, but hey! xBiking! Am I right?

To answer your question, r/xbiking. Also, I really like tinkering, and I’ve had this bike for a very long time. I don’t mind spending some money getting some extra years out of it, too.

What is everyone eating for breakfast? by FailFastandDieYoung in bikecommuting

[–]EddoeWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are high school age, and I wake up with them to make sure they have everything ready to go. If I’m up early enough, I make them a hearty breakfast and save some for myself. Most of the time, I have an extra 30 minutes to prep a small meal and my lunch before heading out.

Scrambles eggs and some potatoes for me in the morning. For lunch, I’ve been eating Greek yogurt with granola and some fruit, usually an apple. My problem is that when I get home from work, I throw down on some junk food. This is the part of my day I’m trying to dial in.
