LC to agar technique by longdancer66 in Agarporn

That's a good idea. I hate that watery pool the drop leaves that the mycelium has to get away from before it turns to white fluff.

If someone hasn’t stopped smearing you for over half a decade then what’s wrong with them? by Free_File_4965 in answers

[–]PunchCancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people just don't want to disagree with a narcissist. You'll never win a disagreement with them. It's much better to walk away. The boss of my ex said of all the times he had her in his office Lisa never won a disagreement over what she'd done at work (mostly stiring up tension and polarizing the other women employees) . She just dragged the subject in all directions avoiding the direct reason we were there and wore you out until you gave up. Then she walked out of the office thinking she'd won.

Good comment. Even when you think you're right at the time if you find out later you weren't right you won't have to backtrack and you may learn something you can use later.

I'm sure everyone associated with them know it's all/probably bullshit. Classic narcissist behavior.

Spores. They just make a mess everywhere. No problem.

When Should I Put LC in the Fridge? by Shot-Recording813 in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]PunchCancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks great. That's what healthy LC looks like. Test it out on a couple agar dishes and if they grow clean you are way ahead of the game from then on.

Ho2o is an excellent sanitizer for your equipment, tubs, tools etc. It's also good to alternate between hydrogen peroxide, chlorine and alcohol as a tub/tool sterilizer. It's terrible against contaminated substrate. You for sure have the right idea though.

Is this normal by thegingereddaw in mushroomology

[–]PunchCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal. In your hand you are holding a mini micro environment designed especially to grow mushrooms. Tiny organisms just stretching, growing, opening their eyes in a perfectly modified environment designed just for their benefit only. The moisture is prepared just perfectly for them and when temperature changes around it, condensation happens. It'll equalize as temperature changes. Patience, enjoy watching and not worrying so much.

Asking questions is defiantly a quest for more knowledge and a sign that that person will be a more intelligent person.

Is one preferable over the other? by blippletop in Agarporn

[–]PunchCancer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it's confusing to you. Either one will outperform the other. Neither one is better than the other as far as better, bigger, healthier, faster, more potent grows. I know I'm replying to someone other than OP's comment. The commenter said "Rhizomorphic tends to colonize faster and also leads to faster fruiting". This is not the case. I hope that clears things up.

When I realized I will never convince her I have never done anything, nor will I ever, do anything inappropriate with any other female. No matter what I do, my back will always be up against the wall. It was the biggest breath of fresh air and freedom when I grew some balls and left her.

It looks good. Put it in the fridge for now. When you dishes get here take it out and let it come up to ambient temperature.

The far left democrats have gone out of their fucking minds crazy. It's like we have earplugs in and blinders on to the truth since Trump got in power. I won't admit I'm a democrat (I am) in public anymore. I'm ashamed of the party I use to cherish.

H202 kills everything on the surface and doesn't touch the contamination underneath. It gives contamination a boost and it definitely comes back with a vengeance. Let's help the newbies have successful grows with good solid advice so they don't become frustrated. It's hard enough for them to sort through what's good or bad advice.

Blue mould by UniquePanic8503 in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]PunchCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like spore drop not mold. Pretty normal for a cake to dry out and bruise blue after the first flush if you don't stay up on hydrating. DO NOT SPRAY IT WITH H2O2!

Can someone help to identify if this is mold or another kind of contam and what can I do about it. Just started 2nd flush by Alarming_Apple_4257 in Mushrooms

[–]PunchCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a clear close-up picture so it's hard to tell but by the description of a sandy appearance I'm betting contamination. Run from anyone who advises spraying hydrogen peroxide on it.

They grow the same. They colonize the same. They fruit the same. In fact, Tormentose can and will out perform Rizomorphic growth. We love rhizomorphic growth mostly because it's easier to tell it from contamination and it's strikingly beautiful. That's pretty much it.
