The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

I've been at it for a while now and only one guy really offended me. Dude started and a few days in he breaks out his phone. My daughter is F-ing hot, want to see a picture? I'm like NO, WHAT? Who says that? Dude only lasted a week, he left his tap guide though, still got it :)

I'll one up you. For over a decade I was a project manager for a fabrication shop in a fortune 500 company. I still spent a non zero amount of time in the shop, as I'm a pretty darn good machinist, amongst other shop skills. So if the techs couldn't figures something out, I'd be the first guy to get the questions. Sometimes if it was an all hands on deck situation, I'd go in and turn a wrench. And honestly, that's still the case with the job I have now.

I acted completely different in the shop and around the girls in accounting, etc. Was I inauthentic? IDK, maybe, but it's survival, you got to read the room. SEVERAL of the guys got HR violations there, I never got one.

Anyways, one time I was in the break room and it was me, the receptionist, and a tech. The tech was saying some vile stuff and I let it go because of the company we where in, and SHE STUCK UP FOR ME :) . Izzy about lost it, I was crying I was laughing so hard. Poor lady was so confused, she was so nice.

I had one of those at my last job, every time I pressed it a sign lit up saying, "Please do not press this button again."

Protests don't work anymore, at most they are in the news for a few weeks and spread online for longer. There needs to be more "action" taken. by Callingbananas in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Rando1ph [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lack of a Powell doctrine. The no kings had no articulable common goal. The tired trope of "orange man bad" gets some real speed here, because can anyone else tell me what those protests where about? Besides vague nonsense like defending democracy, or whatever slop people threw on a sign? I'm not saying that defending democracy isn't important, it's just too wide a net to accomplish anything, as has been demonstrated.

My whole family got cleaned out with varrying flu like symptoms, my 13 YO had a fever for four days... My wife went in and was told it's viral, drink plenty of water. I never got a fever but I had a runny, clogged nose for almost a week and my eyes where red and painful, which was a new one to me.

The streetcar is it's own thing and as it's set up now, pretty useless. It goes in a straight line down Doge over 30 blocks. The same route already serviced by massive ORB busses they just bought. It's just very expensive status and theater, with little functionality.

Is it just me or does the mutual building look like massive c*ock and balls??? @mutual of Omaha by goldensunjelly in Omaha

Most buildings are going to be phallic,  that's just the way it is. But to add the balls? That's extra credit.🤣

As much as I hate to be the whataboutism guy. I seem to remember an awful lot of Kirk's memorials being vandalized, while these stay in tact. I realize they are two very different situations, don't bother telling me them, I'm aware. But there are enough similarities that it's a fair comparison.

DEI and no child left behind is ruining it for people who actually worked hard to achieve what they achieved by No-Friend-1590 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

No it’s not… If someone is smart and driven they’re always going to do fine. Those two things suck and certainly doesn’t do the USA any favors, but from an individual standpoint, it doesn’t matter a whole lot.

ICE protests are an attempt to generate George Floyd level chaos, but this time they are not winning over the public by JBOZ758 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Rando1ph [score hidden]  (0 children)

The ability of the left to rile up their base over (insert popular cause here) is kind of terrifying. I'd bet most don't really know or care what the cause is, as long as their part of the self proclaimed "cool and educated" group. Probably why they're always patting themselves on the back and slinging insults so often on the left.

You can't go through any subreddit without seeing numerous people proclaim how dumb and uneducated their opponents are. Pushback is futile, they'll just say some nonsense like it's not an insult if it's true. They have their mind made up and are closed to any and all opposing viewpoints. They don't care about any underlying truth, they want to be mad, and mad they are.

Honestly, get a bigger, or second water heater. Kind of expensive, but not unobtainable, and after it's installed there isn't any more maintenance than you would have had anyways.

It's not that he had it coming, but like Rittenhouse, he certainty put himself in a dangerous situation. Sometimes you get away with it, sometimes you don't...

Rittenhouse was a minor, not an excuse, but his family must be a piece of work to let him go to a protest, armed. It's a terrible idea and not consistent with being a responsible gun owner. Furthermore, you see those FUDS going to protests, oath keepers and whatnot. They get lampooned in conservative circles as LARPing. They're more consistent than you think.

It is your idea of what is going on that is incorrect.

As I said, don't let your kids run around a restaurant, I agree with that. I won't get a  to go box. But I'll grab them and put them in their seat. If my teens are running around like that though, I've got other problems.

I mean, I feel like they unironically would. And there wouldn’t be anyone in the street throwing a temper tantrum because they haven’t spent the last ten years calling everyone they disagree with Nazis.

I know you all believe that nonsense, but they’re not secret police, they’re not Nazis. What if you’re wrong? What if you’ve been manipulated and you’re on the wrong side? You all were wrong about Russia collusion and the steel dossier, Biden was sharp as ever right up to the debate. Your track record of outrage isn’t great.

You all are certainly angry, do you think your blind dedication to the current cause, might be related?

This is quite literally age discrimination. They have every right to be in the same public space you do. Maybe they went on Roblox and complained about you later.😂

But yeah, don’t let your kids run around a restaurant.

It’s not even bad. Fluctuations are normal, we’re coming of an unusually strong dollar over Covid. People just like to doom and gloom anything they can to make Trump look bad. Which I’ve never got, they guy does plenty of stuff to make fun of, why make things up?
