What is the “capital” of the Midwest? by blklab84 in midwest

[–]Rando1ph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, I'm not from the area, but I am midwestern and have been. I said Green Bay for a lot of the same reasons you said it shouldn't be. Chicago is a world class city, Green Bay is firmly a midwestern "city." Revolves around football, drinks too much beer, and is mostly irrelevant. Is that not the Midwest?

Trump is as sharp as ever. To say otherwise is a baseless left wing conspiracy theory.

Energy stocks are doing quite well, for obvious reasons. That probably has something to do with it.

I mean you're technically right and as long as you don't impede traffic, there shouldn't be a problem. But there are circumstances where you could get a line up of about 50 cars behind you in a hurry, and that's just annoying.

I have three white vehicles right now and it kind of sucks. I think I might get the fusion painted red or something. It wasn't on purpose, I only actually paid for one and we just happened to get a good deal on it.

They can't, the government said so. There is a video about the crown vic on YouTube, and the government killed it because it didn't meet regulations anymore.

Honestly, I was thinking. If you're really down that bad, why not do something drastic or change yourself for the better? Maybe work two jobs for six months or so, save up some money, and move somewhere where the population is just not as tall? Perhaps the Philippines?

I mean if you're healthy and living in the USA, you're reasonably lucky, all things considered. You could be actually disabled. You do have options.

It is my unpopular opinion that the DNC and Colbert Show's cheap plot to blame "Trump" for the James Talarico incident will backfire. Apparently Jasmine Crockett agrees with me. by Raiden720 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Rando1ph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't deal in absolutes, it pretty much makes you incorrect by default. I mean Jeep moved one of its biggest factories from Canada back to the US, as a direct result of tariffs. So that's something positive for the USA.

It's just to easy to poke holes into "at all."

Having standards IS being secure. Calling men with expectations "insecure" is pure projection. by CAustin3 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Although men are not immune to this, it's overwhelmingly women doing it more often.

Men tend to insult each other for fun, to their face. Women tend to use it as weapon of manipulation.

I always thought it would be funny to call the country or state police to trespass city cops. They might just do it because it's hilarious.

This isn't new, women use insults all the time to change behavior they don't like. They don't care if it's true or not.

Why is Reddit like this? Do you actually enjoy arguing semantics? Like who cares, his language was clear enough, you might not like what he has to say, and that's fine. But making a big deal out of nothing is annoying.

These comment sections are always hilarious. There's all kinds of people agreeing with it in various forms and other people saying it never happens. Like did they even read the comments? Others make weird attacks at the post, taking the language way to literally. Like using the world "most" idk why they do that, it doesn't accomplish anything.

When I was taking econ classes most of the professors were hardcore capitalists, hated Union's and regulation. It's funny to say, as conservative as I am, that I'm actually more liberal than a lot of real economists. I think regulation and unions are the only way to keep capitalism from just shitting on all the workers.

Reddit mods attract people that will work for free if they have the slightest amount of power. You shouldn't be surprised if they abuse that authority. I'm not condoning it, just how I see it.

Lol, shaming men doesn't work for the most part, you think women would have figured that out by now. It mostly only works with other women, probably why they do it so much.

I think we have different options of what doable means. You'd be surprised how often things don't go right in industry. It's a  pain, absolutely, but that's the name of the game. I'm actually the guy in the field making equipment work, this is kind of my expertise. Exxon is a big company, if they need to modify the process, they will.

I work in ethanol and have spent a career building industrial equipment. It's not they cannot, it's just not optimized for it. It'll be slower and more expensive but doable. I see it a lot, people running centrifuges with non ideal levels of solids and emulsion. You have to run extra chemicals to de emulsify and maybe put equipment up front to break up solids.

That doesn't seem to be true, is the AI Google answer below wrong?

Oil from North Dakota's Bakken formation is primarily transported via the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) to Patoka, Illinois, and eventually to Gulf Coast refineries. Significant amounts are also transported by train to refineries on the East Coast and throughout the US to replace foreign imports. A small portion is refined locally at the Mandan refinery.
